My vote is for the Zod but I also have a LaChapell 583s with a Telefunken tube that kills on bass even better than my LaChapell 992eg if there's a way you should try the 583s with the Telefunken tube But my next free money is going to Dan for a Zod

I bought the Eventide because it was cheap but it's not stereo its a lot like the old pro tools plugin I've demoed the SoundRadix and it frickin rocks The SoundRadix plug was simple to use and did an excellent job Maybe Randy (Range) could chime in his post turned me on to it You really should demo it there free metering plugs are cool also

Ok I'm not even going to read the rest of the posts before replying... When are these clone wars going to stop??? The inference is the one that looks the closest is going to sound the best. The other school calls on specs. I mean, really, how many times do we really need to make an exact copy of what we're all looking for? Are there that many variations?? Can we just pick one and stick with it [ How many you ask Well I could use 2 -47clones 2 -67clones 2 -c12clones 2-251 clones 4 - km84clones yep I think that would do it I kid well maybe lol ,no really I could ,no I'm kidding No I'm not

I'd really like to hear everyone's experience running pro tools 12 on el captain is it stable? Most of what I've read wasn't good

My original point was they need to get the current OS fixed first kinda same as Avid . Also just read another pro tools expert article saying they are testing the new Apple OS and shouldn't be tried by anyone needing stability WTF but sounds just about right

I totally agree drbill but these are quick easy . I'm working on a very poorly recored live mix where the keyboard was direct an the kush N plugin was the ticket BUT IF budget and time Wasnt a factor I would definitely ran it thru outboard no comparison but this plug did help in a quick fix well worth the 24 dollars I paid for it

Just my 02cents but with plugins an software there are so many choice we just keep searching as kilroyrock said second guessing with your old hardware system your choices were limited to what's there not 20 comp, Eq's , verbs to choose But in the end there nothing sounds like analog gear to tape not saying you can't get great tracks ITB or hybrid but if a choice I'll still take analog to tape

Also blending a delay effect with the reverb on vocals helped for me

I do almost the same as Matt I like to hear the effect so when I get it to where I like I back it off about a quarter turn BUT lately I watched a Vidio on the Abby Road EQ Reverb trick for vocal and drums and since my verbs seem to set much better and are easier to blend I've a ton of software reverbs but generally end up with my eventide h3000 or Roland Srv330 outboard The Roland Srv330 verbs was supposedly developed by several American engineers not the best but cheap good and useable

There's the wunder also but I was just getting to the point that there are a lot of choices of 47 ,67, 251,87 etc at all price ranges but only a couple m49's and not cheap either just seems there would be a few medium priced clones at least in the ballpark (sound wise) Also tlm49 not even close

How come you don't see any m49 clones? Something difficult about the design ? I mean seems like everything else there's an abundant number of choices
