I’ve noticed a couple times after taking large doses of Advil for migraines (800mg), my ears would ring loudly for up to a week. When my doctor told me that it could be permanent, I stopped taking Advil or nsaids.... apparently it’s a pretty common (but rarely discussed) side effect. Just large doses? That’s when it’s happened to me, but it pretty much scared me off of it completely.

Seemed the plugin was a little flat and two dimensional compared to the HW. Or I’m just biased against plugins. 🤔 Probably wouldn’t matter much in most mixes. Nonetheless I’ll likely pick up the 500 unit sooner or later. Price is better than I would have expected.

Amphenol are good and usually cheaper than neutrik (check Redco). For fixed installations you can probably use cheapo connectors, but I avoid them for anything that will be plugged/unplugged frequently.... too many failures, and sometimes it’s not as straightforward as you might think when they fail....ie they seem okay with a quick sound check, and you don’t notice until you listen to your recorded tracks later .

John - if that's your preference, you really should try the Heiserman M7 head basket for your H47. At least test it out. It will lean the mic the direction of the 67. Yeah I’ve thought about it. I’m still waiting on the standard PS. I still have the prototype Your new PSU is mostly ready (finally) Just waiting to get a couple screws.

I went to Heiserman's space, and met Eric Heiserman, as well as seeing Steve Squire from Coil Audio again. I heard all the Heiserman mics and they all sounded great through the phones. Hard to pick a favorite, they all would have their strengths and uses. The new mic looks great, like some 21st Century 414. Here's the mic and the man. What’s the price point for this? We’re not quite ready to announce the price. But I can say with confidence that it’ll be less than $1,000.

A big part of the ml2 cost is that sweet sweet elma switch.

I wonder if the Heiserman K47 and M7 capsules, are both available to try out/compare at NAMM? Thanks, Chris Yes we have them both!

I hope this comes with a mic bag to fend off dust from that exposed capsule. Would love to hear about this on toms or overheads. I guess guitar cabs too. The capsule is not actually exposed — there is a tight mesh behind the grill, but it looks transparent from certain angles.

Yes, this is a large diaphragm condenser. Much of the development time was spent getting the body right -- we were pushing the limits of how small an LDC can be, and it required a lot of revisions to make it work both mechanically and sonically, not to mention the internal shock mounting, and making it look cool So what sort of sound is it going for with the 47 capsule? I guess you think of C414 with this body. Will it be very different from your 47fet? The intention is for a fairly neutral circuit that allows the character of the capsule to shine, so with the hk47 capsule, it’s very much in the same tonal ballpark as our other mics, minus the tubes and big transformers.

Yes, this is a large diaphragm condenser. NICE Matt!! Unfortunately, as I just mentioned to Brad a few minutes ago, it doesn't look like I'm going to make NAMM this year. Congrats though, and lots of luck with all the Heiserman products!!! I'll be keeping my eye(s) on this one!! Cheers, Bill PS - keep your eyes peeled for a NAMM LTL announcement!! Hope it will make it to "print" in time for NAMM. That’s too bad!! Was hoping to see you there. Maybe next time!!

I'm interested. I've been considering something that will switch from cardioid to figure 8 for things like drums. This is a condenser, right? I'd like to know more about how you can be developing something for two years, I'm assuming to get a certain sound, and then say the capsule can be switched on request? So is it more about design than a sound profile? I'd think you'd want to target a capsule quality and stick with that for a particular mic. (I get that with the 47 people might have wanted one style capsule over another, as Neumann had switched. ) Yes, this is a large diaphragm condenser. For those of you that can't make it to NAMM, here's the info we'll have on hand: Come see (and hear) at Booth 15022 with Coil Audio and Stager Mics (ACC North Level 1). No price or release date yet... but it'll definitely be ready this year, and it'll be our most affordable mic so far

Super cool!! We used Chroma's at NAMM to demo our mics, and they sound fantastic. Being able to switch between API and Neve tones makes them incredibly flexible.... not to mention the colour slots, DI's, and other goodies.
BTW 'Colour' is an open source format developed by DIYRE. LTL makes a bunch of great Colour modules, but there's also a ton more that could be fitted in the Chroma+.

$50k with no DAW control, no automation, no recall? And another $20-30k to hook up all the i/o with wire? Who is the market? I think if you compare it to the API 1608 or the RND with the same channel count, the SSL is a good bit cheaper. But I'm with you, if I'm spending $50k+ on an SSL, it better have total recall.

Is there one of these in Chicago ? Would love to audition one . Im looking for a mic to Im-ballsify my voice , everything Ive read makes this a good candidate . It doesn't look like we've shipped one to Chicago. But if you wanted to order one without hearing it first, there's a 14 day trial period, so you could return it if it's not working on your voice.

Have you heard PSI's? I'm thinking about selling my A21m's to help fund my studio build (which will ultimately have ATC150's, making the PSI's redundant).
