Just to revisit --- I installed 2x Mk4 upgrades in my ULN8s. I heard a marked improvement. However, my units were old and still had the original, electrolytic, caps on the analog board. That upgrade was about $375, at the time. It took a while for them to become stable after boot-up. I can only guess how much signal degradation was present in them prior to the Mk4 upgrade. I use 300 ohm, HD600 cans, so the headphone upgrade was also a big deal for me. All-in-all -- totally worth it for my situation. Still haven't had a big enough chunk of time to install mine! Hopefully in the next two weeks. Same for me

I've had some decent luck selling there, although it seems to have levelled off recently.

My microphones are like jewelry. I wear white cotton gloves when putting them up and taking them down.

Hmm, I'd go for two, if we didn't have to re-build the front steps on our house right now...... How long can this group buy hold out?

I'm an old guy who loves hardware. With everything going digital, there is an homogenization of output. Very few people are set apart from the crowd anymore, since everyone ultimately sound the same. I like LTL, and think their gear ( hardware ) is great, especially the Silver Bullett. I only wish them well....... People should have the same oportunities as everyone else. People should set themselves apart from the crowd because of talent and hardwork, nothing to do with the equipment. The homogenization of output has nothing to do with a greater accessibility of the technical part of things, it has to do with talents becoming themselves products, and being part of a industry that would like to make artists like they make cars. I don't disagree with you. It used to be one would seek out a particular studio because of the "sound" that differentiated that place from another, all other things being equal. Sadly, a lot of, if not most, of them are gone.

Why anyone would be sad because of this release? I just hope it's a good plugin. Like the hardware, so more people can enjoy the sonic qualities of the unit. I also hope LTL is getting a good cut of the sales, because they're good people. I'm an old guy who loves hardware. With everything going digital, there is an homogenization of output. Kind of defeats the purpose of the hardware, no? This makes me sad, in a way.

Did you do the comparison against the Shannon Rhodes c12/251? Not yet. Another week or so, hopefully.

Wow the OPR 251 finally arrived and i was lucky enough to get number 0001. Quick tests, compared to my Upton at nearly 3 x times the price there’s a whole lot of things to like about this mic. Mine is at Customs at JFK in NYC. Hope to see it soon. Maybe I got #2....

I just installed a Beesneez M7 in my Signal Arts Electronics U47, would recommend. Now tied with Stam SA-251 for sweetest vocal mic in my locker. Curious why you felt the need to swap the capsule? We feel our SAE U47 is perfect the way it is. I will buy Chad's U48 at some point

Isn't this already included in that "If you build it, they will come" movie quote? Chris Seems like they shut it down in 2003. Looks like it was pretty cool though! IIRC, there was the jazz/live music pub, a concert hall for plays and music, a dance studio, a recording studio, art exhibition hall and meeting rooms. It was quite a big deal.It was a big Union job, and we were non-union coming in from NYC, so there were some payments involved, if you know what I mean..... I remember one of the Interior Designers didn't like the color of the imported marble put down in the bathrooms so she made them jack-hammer it all out and replace it, at considerable expense. Money was no object since the benefactors were all big shots.

I helped install the sound system in a place called "Caravan of Dreams", in Fort Worth, back around 1983. It was a huge cultural undertaking done through the local govt, and most of the funding came from the Bass Brothers, of oil fame and fortune. I always have wondered what ever became of it.

I like using an Alesis drum machine, set to a simple beat and recorded a bit longer than the song will be. There is also a drum machine built into my Kurweil keyboard that works well, but it doesn't do odd time that good.

[…] I’m just really dubious about any Vari mu in 500 rivaling something like a Sta…If there is, please let me know. I finished DIY-ing a Sound Skulptor MU524 the other day. If you have some (mono) material you'd want to audition, just share a link, and I can run it through the MU524. (Not saying it will rival it, but it might give you an idea what is feasible within a single space 500 unit) A pair of mu524 are on my horizon....
