I like using an Alesis drum machine, set to a simple beat and recorded a bit longer than the song will be. There is also a drum machine built into my Kurweil keyboard that works well, but it doesn't do odd time that good.

Wasn't their original rack based on the API 200 series?

[…] I’m just really dubious about any Vari mu in 500 rivaling something like a Sta…If there is, please let me know. I finished DIY-ing a Sound Skulptor MU524 the other day. If you have some (mono) material you'd want to audition, just share a link, and I can run it through the MU524. (Not saying it will rival it, but it might give you an idea what is feasible within a single space 500 unit) A pair of mu524 are on my horizon....

It took Apple forty years to develop this, after they watched the movie "Brainstorm" in 1983

Hi all...I've decided to let go of my (single owner, me) original Soundeluxe iFet7, Serial No. 3 in MINT condition. It's a great mic, was only ever used for vocals (low hours) since I bought it new —when it first came out—; a David Bock classic. Asking $2400. We love ours, it's a great mic

Most institutions, including the govt, are trying to do away with cash. Easier book-keeping for companies and easier taxation for the govt. My son incurred significant legal expenses some years ago, and the only person who took payment in cash ( from my coffee can bank in the back yard, lol ) was the sleazy bail bondsman. The legal team wanted nothing to do with cash, nor did any other entity involved in that mess. I brought cash to cover the closing costs when I purchased my current place back in 2015, and the deal almost fell through because nobody knew what to do with it. When everything was cash-based, things were a lot less costly.

Who wants a sweater gift card?? Their prices are generally the worst. The gift cards came from low-priced items and I used them for small accessories so I didn't have to incur any out of pocket expenses.

I've had great success there. A bit of a lull in activity now, but sold over a dozen items. Took some payouts in gift cards, and some in cash. I don't think the fees are bad at all. It's great that you can purchase a shipping label directly from them. Very easy.

Did you actually install the windows myself, or through a different vendor? I ask for 2 reasons: 1. WTF?, and 2. I need new windows, and I'm not nearly that friggin' handy! I put them in myself. We purchased a house for pre Covid prices with Covid interest rates that needed a lot of work but I worked for a GC for years and had the ability to do the work myself. The windows were basically falling out and half of them didn’t open. The only way we could afford the renovation is me doing it. My wife and I haven’t even killed each other yet so that means it’s going well. Windows were the easy part, I got carried away with design and ripped the entire front off the house and reframed the whole thing. It’s been a trip hahahah. Did you do inserts, or complete windows? Much respect....

With a $25 capsule, I'd expect this to be a lot cheaper. I'd like to know the basis for this statement also

Don't know about the Aztec but I have a pair of their Mini K47s and they are very useful. Not the best mikes in my locker but they have their place. Yes, we have a matched pair of mini k47x which are quite decent

They claim they're not trying to be a clone, but something better..... We have several Roswell mics, and Mic Parts mics, that see regular use. All are workhorse mics and good value. This Aztec is a great mic, I'd bet, but the price does seem way too high in comparison to the rest of their lineup.

Best Deep Purple version is on the Made In Japan album. Check out Chickenfoot's version. Joe Satriani nails the B3 parts on his guitar.....

^^ at the very least! I'd have a few different circuits, but at least one 20Amp on 12 gauge BX. BX makes an enormous difference the reason BX cable ( metal-clad ) is better than Romex ( vinyl-clad ) is that the metal jacket acts as a faraday shield and helps minimize stray noise on the power lines. Of course, you then need to use metal device boxes. An even better alternative would be to use MC cable, which has a metal jacket but also includes an additional insulated grounding conductor. ( BX cable relies on the metal jacket for equipment ground ) You should also use Hospital-grade devices. Best is to use EMT conduit with individual THHN conductors pulled through

We just did a drum session using an AEA R88 as a room mic instead of overheads. We ran it through an Audioscape Dcomp with great results for what we were looking for.

We're happily using a lowly Audix D6, placed just inside a port on the face of the resonant head. Run through a CAPI VP28 Litz, into a Sound Skulptor Pultec EQ = happy
