ADAT with high sample rates is such a Fβin nightmare. Never seen a switch between low and high rates happen without blowing up routing configuration. The only 2 reasons for it are itβs cheap and minimal space on the rear. And it makes the spec I/O count look good!

Looking for a non-regimented way to have live click track. Need it to be triggered with a tap from a pedal or small enclosure. Need pc less solution that even a drummer could use!
Idea is that a performer can tap a beat and start playing and change the beat mid song if needed or just switch it off. Think of singer/song writer style were the playing changes each set based on mood, but they have a backing band.
I found a Mooer Micro Drummer pedal that may work in the tempo setting.

I am always curious why everyone is always talking about changing the MOTU matrix around?
You should only need to mess with it if you add an additional interface, other wise let your DAW handle everything. I am running 2x 16a's with a Svart Box AD/DA hanging off the 1st units optic's.

Question for you streamers: I use pre-recorded tracks for my accompaniment. License-wise I am free to use them for live performance, but any recordings with the tracks are subject to licensing fees from the track supplier. Was looking at YouTube, but am reading about them shutting things off mid-stream if they think there is a violation. I'm not sure if YouTube will view my live performance as some type of violation (not knowing the licensing allowance of the track supplier for live performance), but more importantly, if the archive of the live stream they automatically keep is then a violation since it is a recording. I don't want it recorded or archived. I see where I can designate that the archive be kept private...and it only exists for 12 hours...but it is being recorded nonetheless. Don't want copyright issues, and more importantly, don't want the live session shut down mid-stream. I'm eventually going to record most, if not all and will pay the fees. However, I wasn't prepared to do so in the next few days, and I'm not sure even if I did how I would convey those rights to YouTube. I was planning for a few days from now. Should I be avoiding YouTube for this? Had thought of FB, but not everyone has an account and they may do the same. Hoping not to have to pay to stream live. Thanks. Todd In OBS you can check the logs and see what is going on. OBS is a CPU intensive program. There are some new settings in the latest version for network optimization. I would not monitor YT on the same pc as OBS.

Anybody have sound samples of the Bumblebee RM5 or RM6 on drums? I'm debating selling my AEA n22's...I got them for a steal and wouldn't mind a side-ways move with some coin in my pocket. I have some unreleased material...I can talk to the artist.

mulmany I haven't looked into any upgrades, but the plumber's putty thing is fascinating. If I grab a second pair, I'll have to give that a shot. I put about 1/8" coating on the inside of the ear cup then put the foam back in. It dampened the resonance and improved the isolation as well. It does make them a bit heavier, but it was a big improvement with the originals. I need to shoot them a message and ask about the driver upgrade... The replacements on the site look like they should fit.

As mentioned, the Direct Sound/Extreme Isolation headphones are killer for tracking. I just picked up a pair of EX25s at a steep discount and they're honestly one of the best studio purchases I've made all year. Sonically, they don't hold a candle to the high end AKGs. Not even in the same universe. Like, they really don't sound good at all. But the isolation is amazing. I can crank the click to where it's almost deafening and it's barely perceptible in the recording. I was using in-ears + shooting earmuffs before β these are pretty much just as good. Highly recommended. If you do decide to get these, go with the higher-priced EX29s (better build quality). I assume that all the original versions can be upgraded with the new drivers? You can improve them even more by coating the inside with plumber's putty, at least the originals.

I switch my 16A between my MacBook Pro and iMac once in a blue moon and the routing I had set-up on the last computer is still in place when I connect it to the new one. Cool that's more like what I was wondering, if the units somehow reset between machines. I know it's probably not the case but I don't want to find out the hard way. I have two 16a and the settings follow the units. I racked my "secondary" unit for a remote with a different machine, and forgot about this. It was set as avb slave, so grabbed the primary and used it. Did not need to reprogram.

Anyone used the EX-29βs? It would be nice to not have to worry about click bleed. They lack detail and will make your ears hurt after a little while. The new drivers in the 25's were much better, but I did not change out the drivers in my 29's. They also require a lot of power to drive correctly. Great for drummers though!

Stam took care of the invoice issue. Hopefully I will get to actually test out the new design before Christmas.
I have a few mix projects slated for December so... Here's hoping!

I am surprised you don't have a generator for backup. Specialty with all the hurricanes! You could have something rigged up in an hour I am sure!

That's pretty cool! Should definitely be handy for op amps. I use the big panavise and can get 2x 500 series boards in at the same time.

I was working in a basement a couple years ago, and the remnants of a hurricane was dropping a lot of rain outside. It was very quiet and then I was aware of the sound of running water... I went to investigate since I had been the only person in the basement. After checking all the sinks/toilets, I eventually opened an unfinished storage area door and saw a stream of water peeing out of the foundation. I felt like I needed to be the Dutch boy sticking my finger in the dike. It was so crazy, to see water shooting 5ft out of a poured concrete wall. Fortunately the foundation system was still under warranty.
Svart, hopefully the storms let up for a bit and let you get it taken care of. I just had my back yard re graded to solve my water problems.

I was researching this a ton...the high end Skull Canyon and above NUCs have all the bells and whistles one needs while taking up a 1u-2u rack shelf. You will get Tbolt as well. I ended up jumping to a Mac Pro trashcan because I did not want to jump back to Windows.

Actually, this is a problem I have been fighting for years. It just reared its ugly head again with my new Wes Audio Prometheus which is usb controlled and a session today with a keyboard player using usb for midi. Inescapable annoying digital noise. I'll have to figure out how to get rid of it if I can. I have the ifi device and it helped but didn't cure it. Is audio being sent over the usb? Control protocol should not effect noise, no audio is transferred.
