This is HUGE! Granted it really works as well as in the promo video. I'll be buying it as soon as it's available.

I've also noticed this. Unfortunately I haven't found any other heads that - to me - sound as good. But I am looking...

Airconditioning, a tidy&clean studio and a good band.

You can't go wrong with a CAPI VP25/26/312. They're dead easy to build, and the VP28 will be familiar when you start on those.

This might not work for you, but it did for me: Practice with more subdivisions, record with fewer.
It is harder to be fluid when the click is dictating every beat. I usually do 16th. notes when practicing, and quarter notes when recording. I realize this means I won't be 100% on the beat throughout, but it flows so much better.

Allbuttonmode, That studio is beautiful. that studio is located in paradise? what country is that? It's situated on the west coast of Norway. Near the city of Ă…lesund. By the way, sorry for derailing this thread. To make up for it, I can mention that that particular studio has quite a few excellent mics. For instance 2 U47s and 1 U47-FET. I might just choose one of them over the MD421

I knew I'd regret writing that... But, what the hell! Challenge accepted! I am about to spend a week or so in the studio with a paying client, so it will have to wait. I'm not about to test this out on them

certainly not an allrounder I'm tempted to accept this challenge, and record a song with 421s on everything

Swiss Army knife: MD421. Great for everything. Love affair: MD421. It has never let me down.

I am the lucky owner of a CV4. I love it as it is, obviously, but if it can get better, I'm all for it. Depending on the price tag, I am interested.

Hi! I followed the trail from GS. I have no idea what happened over there. I'm a fellow CAPI fan, and have built a few of Jeff's preamps by now, so I have followed the CAPI thread with great interest. It's a shame that the mod policy over there is what it is.
Congratulations on your forum, John. Looking forward to hanging here.
Thanks, Kai Christoffersen
