My "mutt" Princeton Reverb is a 1980 pull boost (gasp) that's been gone over with a Deluxe output transformer, Kendrick Black Frame 10" speaker, and recently freshened up by Fazio Electric (she's the best in LA). Amp was $450 20 years ago, and my '74 Princeton was $250 on eBay... The Princeton has a Weber C10Q that sounds nice with the lower volume, and I had a male-female speaker cable made to run the Princeton speaker as an extension cab, but also will plug it into my Tremolux cab loaded with Weber AlNiCo 10s. Greg - your RI Vibrochamp already has a 1/4" speaker out - definitely fun to try on larger cabs, and you don't have to swap out the old RCA for a 1/4" jack like on the originals (total worthwhile swap FWIW). Is it possible to run a combo as an extension cab without disconnecting the amp? Didn’t think that was ok. Would love to do that if it is possible You can run an extension cab as the main speaker instead of the internal 1x10, or on amps with the ext speaker jack you can plug in both. I also run my Princetons into my Captor X for silent recording.

And once you try an EL84 amp (Vox, or in my case, Dr. Z MAZ 18 Jr) on one side, and a 6V6 or 6L6 on the other, it's a great tonal match. Not an argument for running stereo, but for having different amp flavors for the tracks.

This looks like the way to go - multiple phones, and under $250 for the switcher (used). if you have a stereo aux send (or create one), you can have a separate stereo mix for the livestream vs. house. I'm tempted.... Thanks!

since you're buying from Sweetwater, ask if they drill it if you can return it?

small home studio, and by that I mean a living room turned into a music room with multiple amps. Sold off a bunch of things on Reverb and with the proceeds bought a Two Notes Captor X. I have some OH and York Audio IR's from when I thought a Strymon Iridium would make a good practice rig, but wanting to hear what others are using.
My setup: Amps: Fender - '65 Tremolux, '80 Princeton Reverb; Hilgen '65-66 Basso Grande; Dr. Z MAZ 18 Jr. Recording - Pro Tools 2022.12 through a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen
Any tips or tricks are welcome, thanks!

Start with a Radial JDI and then see what you need from there.

Listen to music you normally wouldn't listen to. Use lots of pedals? Plug in to your amp direct. Use no pedals? Try a pedal or on-board tremolo.
Buy a looper pedal - great for practicing as you can lay down parts and then solo over them. Tom Bukovac has some great tutorials online worth watching. Listen to every type of music you normally don't..

I found myself having to go out to NJ for several weeks, and then work is taking me down to AR. I'll be commuting back and forth on weekends to LA, but wanted a travel rig to be able to play through headphones and enjoy. Nothing fancy - I already owned the Gristle King and Flashback, and bought the Iridium used on Reverb. Guitar is my '85 Squier Tele that has everything replaced except the body and neck, and even that's been re-fretted. Iridium is fun, and surprised how well it takes boost and drive pedals. Fun stuff.

I have a warmoth tele body from 94 and love it. Stew Mac also has bodies. There's also always plenty of loaded bodies on eBay worth looking at.

Totally get the Princeton Deluxe debate. I have a Princeton and a Princeton reverb, and they sound different. I have a Tremolux, yet still want a Bandmaster again...
Latest for me is a Temple Audio Solo 18. Already have a Duo 27, but this would be for extra pedals to build a smaller pedalboard, and to try and not have 9 pedals and 2 controllers on a board...

How many outlets are gear plugged into? If the answer is more than one, it could be a ground loop vs. needing a new service panel.
Agree on the 2-prong conversion.
What else is on the breaker for your music room?

Meh. It's a 6v6 amp and the drive he's getting is with the BB preamp.
I guess if you don't have a Fender Deluxe Reverb or Princeton Reverb it could be good, but it's not matchless prices good. And you don't get the tube tremolo. And at the prices Matchless is offering them, you can get a decent Fender and swap out speakers if you like...
But the demo player sounds good. I remember when Reeves Amps first had their website they had some of the worst demo snippets that would make you not want to buy the amp.

Mather amps will build you a closed back 1x12 Princeton sized cab for a reasonable price. I love my Tremolux 2x10 with 2 Weber Alnico 10A125's. Also love my Dr. Z 1x12 with a Celestion in it. I also bought a speaker cable to use my Princeton as an external cab with my Princeton Reverb. Worth thinking about...
Something closed would be a nice addition for you, and a 1x12, 2x10 or 2x12 wouldn't be huge but a different sound.

I use them as well. Great cables, also they have multi-channel snakes. Mike's great to work with. Redco is also excellent and use them for one-off cables. They will keep me from ever wanting to learn to solder...

Gristle King v3 pedal, bought from Greg Koch at his recent show in Costa Mesa. This is a gain-ey pedal! switchable pre/post overdrive boost. Sounds good, but I don't know if I need this much gain. It doesn't have the TS9 mid-hump, so it's just more gain, and the boostahead of it really gets into creamy lead sounds. I'm now playing my direct Drive with gain at 9:00 and sometimes just the Archer Ikon on to push the front of the amp. But for over the top gain, this definitely does the trick... Still haven't decided if I'll keep or sell. I need to rewire my pedalboard so that the audition jacks are post wah so I can see what it sounds like there. Would be a bold move to ditch the overdrive I've used for 22 years... Attachments:

Hi - looking for a 2nd QSC K10 for a small speaker on a stick rig or speaker/monitor for small gigs and garage rehearsals, both for myself and for my daughter.
I'm in 90245 El Segundo, but willing to drive for pickup or discuss shipping.
Thanks!

Eric - you read my mind; I have the cross-cut sled, so I already have the base on my cordless saw. Worth getting for sure. I did see a "this old house" episode where Tom Silva glued two pieces of 1/2" ply together with the top piece narrower, and then ran the saw down each side, left hand and right hand to make a DIY track sled for either side of a circular. The Kreg track saw base is $100, so easy purchase.
I'm not at the level of doing enough carpentry to need a real track saw; will report back how the Kreg one works when I do the next project.

I'm no Norm Abram, but in my home studio, the corner with my Tremolux was always kind of a mess; the wooden box to the right of the amp is actually a bookcase with my younger daughter's piano music, which she can't really get to. Now, she's got access to her music, my amp is right there, and I now have a top shelf for more gear. Or a plant which my wife is suggesting... This was my first time using Kreg pocket screws; wood is 3/4" plywood and 1x2 finishing strips. It's basically 2 boxes screwed on top of each other. Lots of sanding, staining, satin polyurethane, more sanding, etc. Happy with how it came out. If I were doing it again (and will be on the right side): - water-based stain and poly - cleanup is a LOT easier.
- I don't have a lot of room, but if there was a way to sand and stain before assembly I think it would look better.
- While this is 18" deep, I could stick with 12" hardwood boards and go for a better grade wood.
- I need a nice hunk of masonite or plywood as a stable base to cut on; was using an old cabinet door (2x4') and wasn't the best.
- Would have pocket screwed the face frame together, and then pocket screwed it to the carcass.
- Would have made it slightly narrower, as 4' is pretty wide and there's a lot of negative space on either side of the amp.
For the right side, it's about elevating a Dr. Z MAZ 18 Jr and a Princeton Reverb, but also adding 8-10 units of rack space underneath the Princeton. At least now I have the tools for it - thankful my old Dewalt cordless drill battery died as I ended up getting a Ryobi drill, nailer, circular saw and the Kreg cross-cut jig. May get their orbital sander next for the next one...

Video cameras with monitors is how Primus recorded "My name is mud" at their house back in the day of ADATs... Getting one of those TASCAM mixers that you can just add a USB Stick and record all the channels would make Jam night more focused on fun. Not sure if the TASCAM or Zoom has better preamps... With a few splitters, you can have the mixer downstairs set for jam night, and then record upstairs using preamps you want... audiopile-net.3dcartstores.com/MST-412-AAudiopile makes great stuff and you could add as you go. I have no affiliation with Audiopile other than being a happy customer with them.
