Ah, why Pro tools: doesn’t that answer the question: audio software for pros? It should just be Tools... haha. A better description of the people who sell it. I have a good friend who calls PT Poor Tools.

Logic has been my 'side piece' to Pro Tools since I bought version 2.5 from eMagic back in the 90s!
This looks extremely intriguing (and it's free for current users!). . . maybe it will move up from side-piece to mistress?

Sounds as if there's no Logic in their gain-staging

No not the body style. You can not trademark a physical design if you did not design it in the first place. T funk already have the term Ela M trademarked but this challenge is coming from a much larger entity. It was applied for the same day that the U47 was application was renewed. The plot thickens…….. There aren't many with skin in that game. There's no harmon guessing.

Right now, many of us are eagerly awaiting the release of mics 251 recreation since everything else he makes is freaking amazing and 1/2 the price! Hi Ward and fellow RGO’s. We are just waiting on the head grille to come back from nickel plating. We have decided to go with BN251 so as not to tread on any toes. Here’s an interesting bit of info for you all; the ELA M 251 has had a trademark challenge applied for in December last year which is pending investigation; I have decided not to be any part of that shemozzle!!! I can’t wait for you all to hear her! Thanks That's just good business savvy, on your part. T.Funk could be doing a better job at improving their products, marketing and PR. Squabbling isn't good for any business.

Make sure all the parts are there, everything else is just maintenance....including recharging magnets, rewinding transformers and replacing ribbons.
Mine sounds amazing, but isn't in perfect cosmetic shape... How much should you expect to spend for a good one? $5000-$7,000 USD

Still hard to make any sense of the feelings on this tragic loss. Rest in peace.
He certainly bridged the gaps between the fractured divisions of Guitar-bass-drum based music forms.

I'm always shocked when a musician DOES show up on time. I just had a multi Grammy winning artist cancel on me a few days before... because he forgot to check his schedule and double booked. This is a session with 3-4 people making plans to fly in from all over. WOW

Great story, Bill!! Thanks. Met him when I was 13, after his show. It was rather inspiring.
but I knew from others that he could be a bit of a character!
P.S. The drummer showed up 90 minutes later and knocked 6 songs out of the park in one-two takes each.

Another vote for pushing speakers (with volume)to do a “thing”. Not convenient, and certainly not tenable for most live situations (nor appropriate for plenty of recorded contexts), but a pushed speaker does something that lower volumes just can’t do. Having a cabinet with low wattage speakers and an amp attenuator can get you the same results without causing the love room to collapse under the extreme sound pressure levels! 15 or 25 watt Celestion Alnicos in a Vox 2x12 cabinet. for example. (Or a pair of Tone Tubby Alnicos, which I prefer) 25 watt greenbacks in a Marshall 1960 4x12. Or a 1936 2x12 . Similar if not same results.

I have both a Cloudlifter and a Royer Dbooster. I haven't noticed any difference between the two. Since I got some high gain mic pre's I seldom use either of them anymore. I have a cloudlifter, I rarely use it. There seems to be some distortion in using it that doesn't show up in the specs. Am I alone in hearing that? It can be useful at times, but I find it present in use with most microphones and preamps

Man . . . some millennials really piss me off, late to work all the time. Waiting for a drummer who's an hour late to the session, everyone else is just waiting around.
When did common courtesy and respect just fly out the window?

Wurlitzer 200a NO.2 haha! So I bought a Wurlitzer a couple of months ago but then I found a mint one. One owner since 1972, they even got the original recite. Condition is like 9.5/10. So I sold my "old" Wurlitzer to a friend and bought this one. I paid a bit more then the first one, which I still sold with profit so its all good! Congrats!! I still have my Wurlitzer EP200 from 1978. Got it for Christmas in the 6th grade (dating myself here!) And still love it.

Anyone popped in to see if there are any good deals in the liquidation sale? Almost asked that myself, then I thought "I'm naturally gonna creep people out who will come with the whole 'chancing' around a girl after she's dumped her boyfriend thing" . . . so, is she single now? LOL

Like that "Frankie" guy? Honestly, not really my bag...but it's amazing. Great playing. Bits of Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Guthrie Govan and others in there but a very unique attack and phrasing . . . both almost Beck like at times.

Also, Steely Dan: horns: omg so tight, tight, tight, melodic and so musical !!! Where have I been ? Listening to country music? What a second . . . what country music? You mean 70s rock, 80s rock, or pop . .. with a put-on southern accent?
