Sounds fantastic. Doubt I'll pay $350 for it.

Wonder how different it will be from the Lex Native PCM Reverb Bundle....

Or the Relab. Both of which are pretty good.

How much different is it from the 224? I have that and very rarely use it.

I chose the $400 Relab over UAD's Lexicon when I had a coupon allowing me to get their 224 for $133. That's how much better I thought the Relab was. Will UAD's XL 480 be even better, who knows, maybe. But they're late to the game here and I sure won't spend that kind of cash on it, since I already have the Relab.
Funny thing, I use the Liquid Sonics 7th Heaven instead of the Relab now, and the Sound Toys Little Plate instead of the UAD EMT-140 anyway.

I gotta say - if they got it right on this one it’s worth the money. I’ll have to demo and see for myself. If I get a chance I’ll throw something through the real thing with the same settings as the plug and post it up.

I used the emt250 on a cool Guitar part and it sounded perfect for the track, so now I’m back into UA for a bit.

I think Relab got it right a long time ago Jeremy. Have you ever used it?
maybe not the greatest comparison, but take a look:

Seems like an expected but also odd choice. Expected because I can see this being bought by a lot of guys who don't read these forums and have no clue what the Relab is. Maybe a few studios who use some other UAD reverb and intend to replace it with this. Forum posters probably make up a really small percentage of the total market. Lurkers might make up a bigger chunk. All these reverbs lately...I may just stick with the Eventide 2016. The rest are all good. Transatlantic Plate had some really unique quality to it but I didn't feel like it was absolutely essential over what I already have. These somewhat short demo times and intro price deadlines are driving me up a wall. If the Eventide was $100-$150, I woulda passed on that too. Who knows, someone else could release a good 224 or AMS 16 and I could pass on going UAD in favor of using my old computers as DSP farms with Vienna Pro(assuming that the existing IRs from pasttofuture, Nomad's 80s Spaces, Slate, etc don't already do the job). Wish I could test out Ocean Way against T-verb. I've also started testing R4 to see if it really can replace the classics like people have claimed. Ebony is another I'm testing. Acustica stuff never really makes a strong impression on me out of the gate aside from showing me how quickly it can cripple my cpu. Sknote should have the new Verbtone up any hour now. Does everyone conspire to drop new plugins all at the same time? This is even an even bigger plugin bomb than when all those tape plugins dropped last year. We just had Abbey Road Chambers before this current wave and I think there's Goodhertz Megaverb releasing any day now.
I watched one of these Spitfire reverb shootouts with the movie score track. The M7 was the clear winner to me. Had a much more unique sound when compared to the rest. I'd like to see a new one done at 88k or above with the Seventh Heavens, this 480 and the Relab, Transatlantic, Illusion, SP2016, Ebony, R4, Nimbus, etc.
Relab I think went with the strategy of charging an arm and a leg for real licenses but something like $7.99 for a subscription. But let's see how this new UAD version is perceived, I'm definitely curious.

I’m definitely gonna demo it. R4 gets me there with this kinda stuff though. R4 is a great verb - it feels like hw in that you can overdue because it sits so seamlessly with the source.

Sounds lovely. I've always thought verbs were one of the things UAD does best.
Man, imagine if Slate was as adept at branding as UAD is. I like the guy and his plugins but his Ed Hardy/Hot Topic promotional style is cringe-y.
Imagine a trendy, stylish, understated rollout with tasteful aesthetics and a logo that doesn't evoke Staind or Nickelback and then, "...get this along with all of the other plugs for $15/mo or buy it for $149, also you can run more than 4 of them in a session..." He'd eat UAD's lunch.

I picked the Exponential too in that shootout. It had some kind of ease the others didn't, making the track easer to listen too. It seemed a little less bright, but that could be deceptive.
Between my Relab, Small Plate, EMT-140, Ocean Way, all the Waves reverbs (except Abbey Road), 7th Heaven, and Logic's seriously good new reverb, I can't justify another reverb. But.. that D4 really did something special in that demo. Strange that the Bricasti didn't do much for me, it blew my mind when I demo'ed it at AES a few years back.

Dang... I SO don’t need more verbs and yet I do. These ITB verbs are getting so close to hardware. Verb in this video sounds real nice. I’ve got the Relab and like it a lot. If the UAD manages to outdo the Relab in real world usage, I’m gonna have to get it, sheesh...

If they nailed it , there'll be a lot of sleepless nights.... The relab wasn't totally there for me nor the 224 and the lex bundle is not really floating it for me either so this new release is interesting for sure. Cheers, Ross
