Makes total sense to have this in the UAD universe but I can’t imagine it really sounds leaps and bounds better than the Relab one. And man, do I miss the Relab one when it was part of the Slate stuff. There was something super special about it that the VSC just doesn’t capture.

I'm intrigued by the extra effects, although the Relab has the HD Hall with dense cluster early reflections.
I think I will hold off though as I suspect Martin/Warp69 from Relab will do his own little black box experiment demonstrating which of these is actually closer to the real thing. That guy is intense in a good way.
That said this UAD could be just as good, just slightly different, who knows.
I will personally say though that VSR S24 (and I would think the new TC with controller dongle) and Nimbus really beat out the 480L paradigm in terms of room early reflections.

Well golly gee, I thought the UAD sounded better there! I thought it seemed to blend with the source more, more gluey.

ya at ua forum although settings were supposed to be the same, most felt the relab seemed to have a little pre delay and not to glue as much; surprised me as when I used to use relab for vocals, it was for exactly the way the vocal would sit better in the mix ?

I probably should have just gotten the Valhalla plug instead of spending $400 on the Relab. But at the time, the Relab seemed to do what no other digital reverb plug did, excite the room.
I just looked at Relab's user agreement. It says it's non-transferable. Is this so, I can't sell or trade my Relab XL-480?
That's one thing that's always bugged me about plug-ins. I feel if I pay $400 for plug-in, I should be able to transfer it to someone else if I don't use it anymore.

Lexicon PCM stuff I got in a sale for 250 bucks. Valhalla Vintage Verb was 50 bucks. The great sounding Plate by soundtoys was a steal - it was for free. Vintage Room was for Free the upgrade to the new version was 25 bucks. Slate IR reverb is great for LV. Not to forget the M7 simultion by Liquid Sonics it was 80 bucks. I still own the REV500 by YAMAHA which is based on something by Lexicon at least it sounds a lot like this ....was 50 bucks at ebay. Not to mention the stock plugs in Logic....some are nothing but great. Do I really need another reverb thing.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am happy with what I have and to my ears it sounds a lot like a record...

My rack of reverbs is screaming there is no such thing as over reverbed, 😁 even if we’re talking spending time on REVERB.com because that’s where you find these boxes. Seriously though chasing that affordable perfect verb that’s in your head is a never ending quest, many have realized it might have been cheaper and less time consuming to have built a great room from the ground up.

I think I'm passing on this one just because I tend to use plates over the Lex stuff...It has kind've made me look for this kind of stuff on other verbs I have, e.g. Seventh Heaven, R4, 224, etc...and those will do for me I think. I still find myself using the Tiled Room preset in Vintage Verb a ton for that modulated room sound.
