Anyone ever use a Trinnov? Expensive as hell. Worth it?

If pressed, I'd sell a lot of things before ever letting this go. It influences EVERY decision I make tracking, programming, mixing. Totally cleared up the 110hz-400hz confusion. And this is in a Carl Tatz room w/ ATC 50's! Still made a massive difference.

Wow, what a horrible website they have.
You mean the Optimizer? They have a lot of products.

This is for room tuning, right? Agreed on the website EmRR. If so, is it any better than say...JBL 708P's with their room correction software? I understand if your speakers do not have room correction software, but I've been eyeing the 708P's, and they've got it built in. Not sure if the Trinnov would be redundant, but I'm guessing yes...

The 708's have EQ, but not correction software built in. Maybe if you also buy the controller? I think you still have to run a 3rd party assessment program and then dial it in.

On the cheap side, Sonarworks did wonders for me in a professionally designed and treated room.

You'd also have to get the 8" external touch screen @ $350. I mean, why not?

I must be the only person in the world who found that Sonarworks didn't work for them. I tried the v4 demo using a calibrated mic for the full two week trial period. I ran calibration after calibration and the result was always the same: it "discovered" the slightly relaxed upper-midrange response of my PMC twotwo 8s and "flattened" the curve beautifully. But the result was a harshening of that same frequency range that no one liked. Strident and edgy would be good descriptors of the tonality with the calibration in; the response was relatively clean and articulate when bypassed. I tweaked the software endlessly to try to make it work, but no dice. I've come to the conclusion that the tone curve of the PMCs is by design, and Sonarworks negated it. Just a theory. Also, the way the software corrected the low frequencies was inconclusive- different, but not "oh wow" better. My ultimate conclusion is that my room might be so bad that Sonarworks is unable to correct for all the issues. I need to treat my room- the sub-low response is all over the place as you move around and I'm sure that I've got destructive reflections happening too. So I'm not bashing Sonarworks- it just didn't do what I expected; it didn't "fix" anything. My father used to say, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Words of wisdom. I need to heed them, I think.

Yes, I think a good enough room is mandatory for any EQ correction to work.

I have the ST-2 Pro. I can't live without it now. The biggest improvement I've found, is the phase and time delay. It can only do so much in correcting the frequency response of a room before you notice it. But the phase and time delay correction is amazing.
Obviously, the better the room before running a calibration, the better the result. As always; shit in, shit out.

Watched the VK video. Pretty insane. EQ, phase, speaker placement, time alignment, etc. all dialed. I'm wondering if it would replace my Grace m905. Obviously it does things the Grace doesn't. more investigation necessary. Thanks for the heads up.

My only real hope with a product like this is that within 5 to 10 years the technology may filter down into a more affordable product.
