Sorry I haven’t been around - I started feeling sick 8 days ago - and the flu has roooocked my world. 8 days of fever. Awesome. I’m getting better every day, man, this stuff is no joke. I’m now a week behind with work so I might be a little scarce.

Wait a second you let something like real life and the flue interfere with your presence in cyberspace? 😎 Seriously my friend sad to hear take your time getting up to speed, this years flue is brutal! A couple of residents turned me on stuff called liquid IV, the nutrients are soaked up before it hits your stomach and it’s a better balance than sport drinks to keep you hydrated! Hope the rest of the family misses it!

Glad you're feeling better.
I had a friend recently die. He had a sore throat which turned into strep throat. He finally went into the hospital when his condition was very advanced, got sepsis and died. I know health care costs are extremely high for many, with high deductible which make people not want to go to the doctor right away, but I implore everybody to go to the doctor when you are sick. Bear the cost despite the hardship. Your life may depend on it.

This year's plague has been lingering with me since Christmas time.
And evidence in mounting that there is one source of it: The flu shot.

This year's plague has been lingering with me since Christmas time. And evidence in mounting that there is one source of it: The flu shot. Now now let’s not be spreading conspiracy theories, in 99% of the public this is not true, the virus used in the vaccine are dead, and are used for you normal people to develop the ability to see them as normal. Now in those of us who are imunocompromized, is that can cause a stress on our systems that can cause us to be suspetable to other problems, in me cause a major pancreatitis attack, Pancreatitis being an autoimmune disease and the fact that grafted skin is missing a layer found in normal skin( the skin is the largest part of your immune system so Yeah I’m screwed! In the immunocompromized it can also stress the system enough that we become more susceptible to the virus it’s self. Part of the problem is with the rise in autoimmune diseases, cancer treatment and AIDs more immunocmpromized incubators out there and more and more drugs in someway compromise the immune system. Add the fact that predicting what viruses are going to be the big problem year to year is a crap shoot and this year was a miss. The shot and washing your hands are the best defense, if not for you, How about your friends who can’t have it?

EXCEPT for the new Shingles vaccine which made me sick for a couple of days. Hope all who are suffering from the flu get over it quick!!!

Me, I like to get my ideas on epidemiology from people who feel about scientific research the way I feel about songwriting and compressors (and who spend every minute of their lives obsessed with it) rather than chain emails from everyone's uncles and the good folks over at www.eaglePatriotTruthbomb.biz

The craziest thing that can happen as a result of the Flu shot is Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which can leave you paralyzed and can take 1-5 years to fully recover from, if you do recover from it. It’s a 1-2 in every million shot, but it is scary stuff. www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/vaccine/guillainbarre.htm

The H3N2 vaccine was not particularly effective this year, I think because the egg cultures mutated. That was the brutal strain, which caused sepsis in some people.
Can still help with lessening severity of symptoms though.
Anti-vaxxers fixate on the Mercury in multi-dose vaccines, but it's not the same isotope that is toxic and sticks around in your body.
I usually get inflammatory response/feverish from the shot, but on balance it's the right move to get one. I was laid up for a week like John, during my paternity leave. It was awful.

I had just gotten "I haven't been sick in three years" out of my mouth that morning at breakfast. Got sick the next day. I had taken a steroid pack for a shoulder issue and didn't realize it, but apparently that lowers your immune system...I had taken my kid to skate night - and I'm sure that was FULL of little germ infected mutants...Anyway, kind of feverish right now, but today has been glorious.

It’s a 1-2 in every million shot, but it is scary stuff. www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/vaccine/guillainbarre.htmThere also some allergic reactions to some of the other non active ingredients. I consulted with the world renowned DR Thomas Mackie, the infectious disease expert who realized it was a mop head that almost killing us about the fact that hours after a flu shot I was having a severe pancreatitis attack. Between him and my Pancreas expert we realized the introduction of the dead viruses caused stress on my immune and other systems so in my very unique case it might be better to deal with a week of flue rather than a month of stomach issues and pain that many have compared to child birth ( its only really about a 7-8 trust me I know what 10 is) that would definitely end with 5-7 in the hospital!

Anti-vaxxers fixate on the Mercury in multi-dose vaccines, . I always request the single dose vaccine. Much less mercury.
