There is a online mastering service called, Aria. It offered a free trial if you emailed for a coupon so i did. Now, lets not let this discussion get too heavily into whether this beats a real mastering engineer or not.. more as a view to a pre master service to send out to clients, rather than you trying to quickly do one up yourself. Nothing is really going to beat someone like Bob Olhsson .... but I wouldnt use this for what I use him for. I use a Bob to make albums. So anyways lets have some fun. I will put up my mix, unmastered, and their mix, mastered. Lets see how we fair against the machine, doing our own quick master. I uploaded it and it was back to me inside 10 mins.... which I think no one is going to beat.. .but for fun, put how long you worked on it..maybe see if what you can do in 15mins.... 8) They have a subscription model, and a pay per song model.... you can check out their site at aria mastering
Whats different about this service... in the blurb I read, it does a digital scan of the track, then puts it out through "analog" mastering gear. The guy who developed it and owns it is a fella called Colin, from SING MASTERING. You have 4 options when mastering...I picked A, which is the most dynamic, least loud. They delivered me a 16 bit 44.1Khz file, I have asked for a Mastered for iTunes file as well. (I have no association with anyone about anything) Lets have some fun.... cheers Wiz The Blue Green Ball Un Mastered

Looking forward to hearing this service as well as taking the challenge. Colin does great work and has recently mastered the number 1 album and single in the country. I do not see the Aria service being used for that either and it wasn't. Also, on other big name label artist the HW desk and chains are used NOT the automated Aria. Colin is here in ATL, has a sweet setup. I will definitely give this a test a go.
So in less than ten minutes you had your " Aria Master " back? If so that's very quick and the system must be extremely automated and efficient. Will post back with my " master ". Thanks for the exercise!

I don't think anyone will get a straight answer on what's being done with this.
A number of threads at GS exist on the Aria product, and a lot of them have the owner show up and say he's not going to tell what's going on, with a bunch of folks piling on to say they aren't using it unless they are told what's going on..

I tried to trade for his Passeq a few years ago. Glad it didn't work out, ended up with a better deal in the end. Seemed like a nice dude though. Looking forward to checking it out.

I keep forgetting you're in the ATL but yet we've never met.. Colin has a vinyl mastering grade listening setup for clients it's pretty cool. His room is so well designed and his gear is stellar. Another is Glenn Shick, he is a beast as well when it comes to mastering. Do you own/ run/ work at any of the big name studios? Would love to visit your place and hear some mixes/ cool gear. I used to track and record at Tree Sound, Hot Beats, Patchwerk and 11th St. studios. Have worked out of Vision Studios, Hot beats, 11th Street, and the Artist Factory. Unfortunately, I am pretty unknown and the past two years haven't frequented any of these aside From artist Factory due to my injury. Recently I reached back out to a couple contacts from the bigger studios regarding freelancing but alas one has moved on and the other ( hot beats contact ) says business isn't what it used to be so I am mostly recording/ mixing / mastering at my own studio drumming up business via social media and local independent talent. ( home / spare room ). It's not much however I make it work 🤓 I don't have any big credits to my name yet and just recently have been building relationships with Future's mix engineer Seth Firkins and Kevin Gates Rec / mix engineer Millz. Millz tells me I need to post / make YouTube tuts and I'm telling him let me mix the next single 😂

I feel certain services do have an advantage over others, as well as having obviously better sound. Like we say, " you get what you pay for ". I have seen a couple other services like this, Landr, Maximal sound, Mastering Box, WaveMod (?) and some others like this link: mixmaximizer.com/www.wavemod.com/Where is the face palm emoji 🤦♂️ I just found another with a 100 band eq 🤓and " 8 multiband compression " hmmmm. What is that 😆... Yes that's a direct quote from www.curioza.com/ ...

Tree is right down the road from my place. And yes, business is slim for everybody, honestly. Even the smaller guys like me are feeling the pain of having so many bedroom studios out there taking onesie-twosie jobs. Anyone who says they're doing tons of work around here is putting up a brave face to seem marketable to clients. Everybody wants to work with a winner.. I've done stuff for a number of hometown heroes over the decades, but nothing that has gone national. I have a few mixes on the local radio here and there though. Let's get together and talk shop sometime.

Those, and other modern inventions, are the reason why business is going down year after year.

Can't see why this type of service can't be amazing.
We have software that can automatically seek and fix issues and we have hardware that is controllable by software.
Put the 2 together......

Because machines can't be programmed to have taste. Because the wohle reason why we love to create music is all about social interaction, we create something with love. I want to sit with the ME in one room. I want to talk about the songs.... I want a virgin pair of ears checking my work. Thats it. Even if that website would do the best master in the world.... I still live and breath interaction between humans.... thats what live is about. I dont want to live in a world where everything is done by online services. All those new services interrupt a social contact....

Just got here. Have no time to finish reading and then listen, but I'm looking forward to taking the challenge. I'll try a 15 minute mix, and see, asap.
I did try Landr once. The track returned slightly improved, but no better than what I could do in 20 minutes and I could probably get more volume without distortion. If I had no time on a project when I need something quick, I could see using Landr, but only on rare occasions. This sounds like it could possibly be a much better thing..
Wiz, was that track done with ARIA? I haven't listened yet..
