Note to self...for next product release drop price 40-50% and coordinate massive dealer buy. I'll take 5ea $299 silver bullets...sound unheard. Paid in full, no demo required, don't need to see under the hood. Think of how many you'd sell EDIT Posting this got me thinking about how much I love my Chop Shops and how I bought a pile of rogue 5 Opamps and then I remembered you sent me some rogue 5s to try out forever ago. I still have them. I never paid for them. Send me a PayPal invoice and I will!!! They're great.

I ordered a pair through amazon today. 4-5 months to ship. Ouch! Sweetwater is telling people September but they probably have no idea. Mine are on a truck a couple hours North of me, will be checking the front stoop tomorrow as I run around town for appointments. Music Group might have given them a projected date but that means nothing! Only dates I ever trusted were dates with Tracking #, All it takes is the KT stickers being late to knock everything off!

I wish I could do a $299 Silver Bullet. All that gets you is the chassis and faceplate. Ha. Tell me what you guys think "let's mobilize the world into a buying / hype frenzy" stupid prices would be for Chop Shop, Chroma, and Silver Bullet and who knows... ericn - Who needs to raise prices or eat when there's fun psychological marketing experiments to conduct on consumers? Why are you guys buying in 5's? You need even numbers so that your PT inputs/outputs stay logical and so that you can do stereo. Minimum order - 6.

I disagree in part about the transformers. Some of the materials used in the old vintage transformers can be quite expensive as well quite difficult to source these days. Can you give an example of an objectively superior material used in the original Pultec EQ transformers that this statement applies to?

Cinemag has 'cloned' the original Peerless S217D input transformer and it is available for a little more than $200. by the way. somebody mentioned it earlier.
I can't figure out if you get this with the Warm EQP-WA or not.

Superior may be the wrong word, many metal alloys have changed over the years do to environmental issues, economics, changes in prossesing and in many ways today's may infact be considered higher quality more consistent materials. Some of the euphonic sound we love of the vintage units may in fact be due to what in theory are inferior materials by today's standards. Now the funny thing is in China some prosses and ingredients that have been band in most of the western world may still be used, so in theory there is a chance a better reproduction of the classic vintage transformers could come from China, in theory.

Nice round, even number and I'm done building my mix rig! I'm borrowing 10 AWTAC channels amps right now but Dave is gonna want them back soon☹️

It was pretty much interchangeable with the original.

I ordered a pair through amazon today. 4-5 months to ship. Looks like they accomplished their goal. Surely at this point anyone in pro audio knows KT is baaack!! I wouldn't have known about them except for this forum. I was looking at pulse or some Lang but fugh. So much money. At 600 a pop it's a no brainer if they sound pretty good. Cheaper than some 500 series clones even. Wtf?

Or would you keep it anyway because you got something cheap that said appeared to be a Pultec? What if it just sounds ok, and doesn't give you any special feelings?

Reviews are out, we already know how it sounds. But not sure what to say about special feelings... I'll return the question: how many $299 EQ's do you own or know of, that give you special feelings? Main point being, once they return the price to $599 (which they will), you have yourself a free unit you can resell at cost whenever you want.

Can you give an example of an objectively superior material used in the original Pultec EQ transformers that this statement applies to? Nickel Can you elaborate? Given that nickel is one of the most common elements on the planet, I would have though that it would be easier to source than it was 60 years ago. Was there something like environmental concerns that have caused refinement to change to poorer methods or lower quality alloys over time? I know this has been an issue with things like the quality of some paints, which have had to downgrade to less ideal materials over the years in order to meet environmental regulations. For reference, a quick glance at Sowter and Cinemag's spec sheets on their respective websites mention construction utilizing μMetal and Radiometal (depending on the transformer in question), which both contain nickel: cinemag.biz/output/output.phpcinemag.biz/output/PDF/CM-S217D.pdfwww.sowter.co.uk/vintage-audio-transformers.phpwww.sowter.co.uk/colours/9530.pdf
