I once worked in analysis of shipping/transportation with a very big transportation company. As a worldwide hi-tech company with shipping bays at our factory like an airport for truckloads of mobile phones .... you have the same shitty web interface track and trace for tracking. The retail web interface. No b2b interface. Not automatable at all... You would not believe how many packages get lost, have wrong ttackings, have been found in wrong locations etc., etc.. Sometimes i wondered how this still can be called "professional". Yup, it is the big company with the 3 letters... There can be so many obstacles in transportation, and even the biggest manufacturers of electronics can not guarantee flawless delivery. It is simply not in your hands. Only thing you can do is trying to trace the packages and hold up communication with your customers... So i guess Stam is doing well here, not much you can do about this kind of circumstances.

And might I add... PHUCK stam, are you some kind of voodoo witchy warlock? Are you just ripping out SSL comps and putting them in your own cases? When you orderers get yours, you'll know what I mean.

Good, because dude, you seriously made me spew my night cap at the screen with that one!! LMAO Hey, I'm sure the SA4000 is nice kit. All about design and components. Anyone can solder, especially if they do it all day every day. I love Chinese manufacturing! Allows a guy with a small budget like me to (slowly) fill up his studio with great sounding analog gear.

I got mine a while back but I felt bad saying anything about it. The one I ordered would have been in the second batch sent out but was lucky enough - because of the contest John and Stam put together that I won - to get the one I'd have paid for (if not for the winning the contest) earlier.
...plus had some patchbay-related problems so I couldn't really get it all integrated into any real use as early as I'd have liked.
Truthfully, I'm speechless about the sound of this compressor. I've not used any other suitable hardware compressor for mix buss before but this thing really buttons up my mixes for me and has a TON of spank in comparison to the hardware and plugins I had used previously. It took me a bit to get a good feel for it and be sure I wasn't just glowing from getting new hardware - but I couldn't be happier with it (unless it also did vocal fader rides for me)!
2:1, 10ms attack (if I remember), auto release on Wiz's "Lay Down With Me." 4:1, 30ms attack, auto release on a dance track I just did. 4:1, 30ms attack, 100ms release on some rock stuff I've worked on.
I dug in a little on the dance track. It stayed contained but you could feel the movement.
On Wiz's track it felt like someone put their hand on the bass's butt and, like I'd do to an infant trying to get something just out of reach, gave it just that little lift to put it where I wanted it.
On the rock stuff, kicks and snares smacked hard while everything else stayed put and sat together.
Killer work, Stam. I can't wait to find some spare cash for your future hardware endeavors!

I have 2 ... one for the drum buss/guitar buss one for the mix bus Interesting. How do you feel about it on guitars? I had considered getting two, one for the drum buss and one for mix buss. But, since I hadn't ever really worked with a hardware compressor, I couldn't commit to it. You digging it for guitars/bass?

And might I add... PHUCK stam , are you some kind of voodoo witchy warlock? Are you just ripping out SSL comps and putting them in your own cases? When you orderers get yours, you'll know what I mean. No secrets here mano, just follow the original schematic without changing anything, it should sound the same as an SSL, source the best parts, use your ears and above all use quality capacitors, particularly here where no transformers nor tubes nor other variants come in play. I use Panasonics on the SA4000, Vishay's on the 1073 and SA87 and Solen Fast or Vishay's SA-2A. I will never place chinesse capacitors on the audio path. Thanks for the nice feedback, I am very happy that you guys are happy!

Can't wait to hear your impressions John. I really need one of these. Just today a friend asked me to run a mix of a song he did here without vocals for a promo. I just couldn't get the 2 bus tone and level where I wanted it, no matter how many plugs I tried.

So - got it...hooked it up, but I'm lacking one cable (of course) for stereo. I have an XLR with a TRS adapter, but the level is lower on one side using the adapter. So off I go to Guitar Center. Just listening to the mono channel, it does as advertised!

I always feel like I need to shower after a trip to GC!😩
