I’m using the Pre/Eq version and it sounds superb, the whole thing works great. I’ve opened mine and they’re exactly the same as the picture’s on the website. Really nicely done. I’m planning on ordering more. These look great! Have you used them on Line sources as well?

I've bought both an old MacBook Pro and iPad Pro within the last year. No issues so far.

Also, we have been working on 3 new Flickinger products, a dual-channel EQ, a Pre + EQ channel strip, and a 500-series pre, and we are planning to ship some, if not all of these, in the Spring of 2021. Thanks again for the interest, Stephen Will the 500 series also have a line level input?

Good morning, all.
Since the pandemic hit, my writing partner and I have been struggling with in-person online collaboration. While we've been able to send sessions back-and-forth to track, the process of working together on music face-to-face is much missed. Skype and Zoom all have significant enough delays to stifle the creativity.
Have any of you come across any solutions that work for you?

I've bought a few mics from Microphone Boutique, and I have several RTT/AEG made or modded mics. I have zero complaints with their work. Really excellent mics for the money.
If you ask Marc, maybe there's a return period you can exercise, should you not be happy with the mic?

Hello, all.
I need a talkback solution for a voiceover studio I'm working on. I've used the Presonus Central Station Plus, but both the rack unit and remote's TB buttons wear down, introducing a lot of static and noise before finally ceasing to work.
Aside from something rock solid, I need two remote buttons, one for the engineer and one for the director.
Does anyone have any advice?
Many thanks, Tommy

Now that you have it resolved, how are you dealing with latency in Pro Tools? I monitor through the Motu mixer for near zero latency. Is that what you mean? Apologies - I meant for the HW Inserts and processing. Do you have significant latency to account for when mixing through the HW inserts?

Did you get this resolved? I did. There is a lot to the routing to understand, and you really do need to have a good understanding of it before being able to properly use it. Lots of moving parts that need properly set. But, it really is super flexible. I can route anything to anywhere, really. I’m still getting the hang of it. They should hire a team of UX/UI designers and charge a bit more for their interfaces. Oh, and I guess the browser thing is just a graphics glitch in the browser. I was told to refresh my browser next time it happens. We’ll see. Now that you have it resolved, how are you dealing with latency in Pro Tools?

Surprised no one mentioned the Avedis MA5. A lot of people go "oh Neve clone" but personally I think it's far from it. One of the best pres ever made IMO. A Hairball Lola could be a nice flavour as well! The MA5 is great, but it doesn't have a line-in switch on it. Since the preamps will be in a Cranborne Audio 500ADAT, I need to have the mic/line switch incorporated in the preamp itself to take advantage of some of the ADAT routing.

Do you have any API or Neve pres in your arsenal? Does the TG2 differ enough to justify? Hi Tommy, the TG2 has its own sound, it’s a different flavor. What type of music are you doing? I work a mixed bag of genres: electronic, hip-hop, singer-songwriters - from tracking and mixing, to mastering. Hence wanting the ability to process using the line-in on the mic pre.

I’ve been considering been considering TG2-500, Mercury AM16D, Purple Biz, but looking for annecdotes or other options. Any suggestions are welcome! Many thanks, Tommy I’m biased of course... however, FWIW, the ‘Fine Gain’ control on the TG2-500 acts as like a color wheel, allowing you to tune it for the source/scenario; awesome little processors. Hi, all. I need a little help adding some new flavor to my 500 series rack. I'm looking for 2 pairs of modules with mic/line, so I can track and mix through them. I've got the Neve and Api flavors covered, so I'm looking for a color contrast. Right now I have: 6 - Louder than Liftoff Chromas 2 - Rascal Audio Two-V I've been considering TG2-500, Mercury AM16D, Purple Biz, but looking for annecdotes or other options. Any suggestions are welcome! Many thanks, Tommy How are you liking those Two-Vs? I've had an interest in them for a while. They're great! The do the "Neve" thing really well, but they can reach for more territory. They always have a weight to them, though, which I like very much.

The electrodyne 501 is interesting to me because the P1 and 501 sound so totally different to me. The 501 is very fat and round. I tested this against Vintech Neve styles, I think Pacifica and some others in a studio. Wow is it fat. Yes it really sounds very different. I love the transformer-coupled DI in the electrodyne. Sounds really good on synths too, not just pbass (where if I'm being honest I prefer amp anyway). Good to know, as I'm a pbass guy.

Thank you, Brad. That would help with some situations, but not with my incoming Cranborne 500ADAT, where the audio can travel back and forth via ADAT.

I ended up with the NV locked and loaded in my vocal chain, and the P1's pretty much stay on a stereo pair of SDCs for my piano. Sweet. Both really great Pres! I wish either the P1 or Electrodyne 501 had the line-in option. Would really love to add that flavor, but alas.

Received the Mac today, went for the FreeGene adapter which was slightly cheaper than the one I showed on amazon and had better reviews.. It works absolutely fine, just a bit of a tight fit initially.. As for the Mac itself, bar the keyboard that's taking a bit of adjusting to it's great. Super silent, powerful and light although it can get a little hot at times. Nothing to complain about here. We'll see how things go with Logic / UA Apollo.. Keep us in the loop on how well the adaptor works. I'm interested to see how the bus powered hubs perform with audio interfaces and high volume data. Cheers!
