Or point me towards his top of the line unit AD and DA... the gearslutz super beast Dac is $311 bucks. You click on the more ear gear and it's near the bottom of the page, under new stereo. You can buy that and the pcm4222 ADC for $641. Its 2 separate boxes.

Well, you might want to go for the "PCM4222 +SUPER BEAST Package $641.90" for a stereo AD and DA solution. But in 2 units. The Super Beast DAC seems still to be the top of the line DAC, same as i heard saturday, ADA4898-1 opamps, he calls it also *purple site* unit...(cough)..., but Super Beast is on the front panel , Above seems to be a limited time package offer together with his AD. Go right down on the "NEW STEREO UNITS" section on their product page, look out for above description, the package is listed right from the regular units, from the description go directly to the right. There are always 2 "Buy now" buttons per product. The first is the one to go for US residents, the one below for international buyers who have extra cost for shipping.... Be sure you get the right description in the paypal window that opens then....then you go sure you don't order something you didn't intend to --- Hope this was understandable.... Best regards, Martin

After all i heard this weekend and read now, i might go for an opamp change in my personal RM DAC. I have to check, if i might have to do changes PSU due to power requirements and have to tame the Analog Devices Opamps additionally to prevent oscillation. Did not check the opamp datasheets yet. Maybe check inside both units on wednesday, when i am back in the listening room... The ADA4898-1 unit impressed me alot, and nice to read from jimwilliams along the lines of his very appreciated technical info, that my ears did not fool me due to subconcious expectation bias, since we did no ABX testing.... Just thinking out loud....

That website is a complete mess! Really the worst website I've ever been on. It's amazing that they sell any of these things.

I invited Ross over...hopefully he won't be offended by us pointing out that the website lacks a certain "sophistication". Although, I think it might be good to even see what your FANS think.

He should have me do cases and front panel design for him. I'm not saying, I'm just saying!
On a more related note. I would love to hear these compared to the new BLA stuff or the symphony. I also really wish he had an option for 32 channels of AD/DA.
Jim do you recommend anything else in that amount of channels?

Oh, that's new. (and great) The latest multi channel machines he advertises and actually sells are a 4 channel AD AES/SPDIF and an 8 channel DA AES (2 different units). I know he was working on an ADAT converter. I guess, soon we see new machines. Despite the old ADAT chip is EOL, there is already a new company apparently producing licensed chips again. So ADAT will not run out of business anytime soon. Good for us. I really would like to see a dedicated 8 or even 16ch or more DA only ADAT converter as well as 8in/8out converters, all ADAT, for doing analog mixing thru a console...

As for the webpage: Ross Martin already has alot of business to do, and the lead times may be going up with an easier webpage... I just think, it is like the plain old html of the 90's. I have no problem with it really, but maybe i am some kind of internet dinosaur....

And yes, lot's of love for his converters here. Consider me as one of the FANs of RM products. They did exactly, what i expected, soundwise even a bit more, and offer great quality at a very attractive pricing. Sometimes the business side of things could be better, lead times, or small things get mixed up, but Mabry sorted it all out and everything was done right in the end once communicated.

Doesn't the Adat lock u into 48k max reso? I want 32 channels D/A as I'll be mixing through a 32x8x2 console, I can live with 12 total A/D's, I cannot live without 88.2 and 96k SR

Don't know whether I'd want to try the AD first or the DA...and I'm just wondering HOW much of an improvement it would be...or if any over the Symphony...You know, just trying to figure out where to spend money...but to be honest, if I can't mix with the Symphony DA, I should just give it up.

Right now I am thinking to either get the BLA AD/DA (2 units) or a new Cranesong Head or possibly a Burl or Mytek. But if the Ross MArtin was as good as I think it could be I might go for one of those. But what I really want is a high quality 32 AD/DA like Tony..Heck I really only need 16 AD and 32 DA. How are you guys in contact with Ross? I emailed him a year ago and still have heard nothing?
