Hey Matt, will these deals be redeemed through online pricing or do we need to email you to get the adjusted cart totals?

Hey Matt, will these deals be redeemed through online pricing or do we need to email you to get the adjusted cart totals? It should be discounted on the website directly. It shows the discounted price.

Working for me now. I really shouldn't but I've been wanting to hear a 622 for a while...

Figured I would post in this thread:
I am interested in either a pair of QP5s or, a QPP. I would be running them in front of a pair of Capi VC 528 MLs and a pair of Electrodyne 511 EQs. What I am wondering is if I should bother to put different op amps in them (it) or just stick with the M2? I love the APIish flavor and typically leave my Silver Bullet on the A setting but, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be happy with the M2 op amp. Just looking for ideas before I pull the trigger. I currently have a Daking mic preii that I will most likely keep if I get 2 QP5s instead of the QPP.

I love the meaty low end they have on drums, which is mostly what I use it for. I’m also a fan of Daking pres, and I think they compliment nicely, since those have a bit more midrange emphasis. If you’re ditching the Daking, I’d suggest getting the QPP with different pairs of op amps. Maybe try some API-style ones mixed with M2?

Considering your thinking, a pair of QP5s would be the “smarter” option since I also really like my Daking.

Was going to say the same, Daking is an excellent companion to the QP, but then again, you also have the IAA H9 to consider which in addition to a preamp that I find as natural and open as a Daking, also has the great EQ section. I would recommend 2 QPs and 2 H9s haha. FWIW the Flick op amps have a lovely warm tone that rules on vocals and guitars especially. And I don’t wanna speak for IAA, but they may have some diff transformer options on the QP too

I spoke to Matt. Now I just have to decide if I want a 500 series pair or the 4 channel rack version.

That 4-channel rack IAA pre is sexy as hell

That 4-channel rack IAA pre is sexy as hell I don’t “need” 4 channels but, only $300 more than 2 500 series and then they are sitting there….. sexy as hell.

Decided to just go w the 2 QP5s and then also hold on to the Daking. Coupled with my interface, that gives 6 mic pres which is way more than I use at a time anyway.

There are colors available if you want them, as in levels of drive and THD, but it's a 'stiff' preamp. I absolutely love it with my Heiserman H47T and cdkelly Signal Arts 48.

I just checked out Seawells review of the V2. Wow I was extremely impressed. Definitely on my must have list. I have not been able to find any review of the 622 and quite interested to hear the compressor in action.

No one has done a thorough review of the 622 that I know of. There was this video made but it was a bit of a different style.

Oh might as well say how much I am digging my QP5s.

I'm guessing there aren't too many 622's out there based on my serial, and it's kind of criminal.
If you have some .wav files you want me to run through, I'll have a block free on Wednesday to process some things on it.

Matt I just had someone post in a facebook group about a DIY aux send unit of some kind. I swear you had come up with something before like this but can't seem to find anything on it. Did you do something like that?

We have a killer aux send unit, 16 channel 8 bus 4 aux console. Uh...I made something for a guy once that was aux-sendish... what exactly do you mean by aux send unit?

Haha I think I was thinking the random aux sendish unit. Like it took inputs and have multiple outputs and a through put maybe. Idk. Either way you might get an email from someone asking about it.

Fantastic review, congrats! And Tape-Op is no pay-to-play slouch either. Now.... about that variable impedance knob thingy. LOL

Ward, use a 38k resistor in series with a 1 Meg linear pot in the place of RL on your QP5. it'll be a half hour mod. if you want, i can write up some instructions or you can call me when you get it on the bench
