Every time I see these Stam threads it just bums me out. I wasn't one of the lucky ones who actually got what they paid for. I essentially ended up giving them a two year interest free loan. Actually it was worse than that. My refund was $15 short. Potential buyers beware! When one forum isn’t enough uh? I would be happy to send you your unit at the originally agreed price and deduct whatever PayPal charged you =).

I don't know if any "special" units are going out early.

We are getting close to finishing all the first 100 pre-orders I am happy to look into your case, email me anytime at stamaudio@gmail.com

I have done that for other customers on here and they have always kept the unit We can do that once all paying customers have been served.

You had my money for two years and wouldn't send me the product--even after you said it was ready to ship. I don't see why now would be any different.

Sorry, but this just comes across as sour grapes, you bailed, got your refund and due to your comments here, josh has offered to reinstate you in the que, and send you a new unit to try without paying for it in advance and still you just say negative things, what more do you want ?

You really do our community a disservice by defending deplorable actions by a vendor who screwed so many of us over. Receiving a partial refund after two years does not negate the injustice!!! If that happened to you, would you jump at the opportunity to send him more money? If he really wanted to make it right, he would send me the unit and I would send him the payment. His offer to send one after some indeterminate amount of time rings hollow after my experience. His actions speak louder than words. Until he makes amends, it is my duty to warn others as I wish I would have been.

I don’t agree. Anyway, not certain where you have been for 2-3 years as we have been all through this ad nauseum.
Chile is currently on lock down, not certain how anybody is supposed to give you a specific ship date or why Josh shouldn’t deliver first to those who have not cancelled their order.
I understand your frustration but you made your decision and bailed. Josh basically offered to send you the first unit that is available.
So, what do you want: a unit or to raise issues about the past ?

What is it that you don't agree with, exactly? Why are you trying to nullify my speaking out about my experience? Perhaps your hoping to curry favor with Stam? Are you also waiting on backordered items? I'm sorry if you've heard it all before, but not everyone has--and it certainly wasn't exactly common knowledge 27 months ago that Stam Audio misses deadlines by years. Well, shame on me, right? Thanks for the solidarity, guy! I think Stam gained their infamous reputation from the very item that I ordered, the 1176-ADG. I was one of the first 50 people to order and he had $400 of my money for years. I don't see why I should go back to giving him an interest free loan. How would that be any sort of restitution? Furthermore, you speak of his olive branch as some magnanimous offering, which is complete bullsh*t. What makes you think that if I sent him more money that he would actually send me the product? I do still want the compressor I ordered in early May 2018 at the initial discounted rate. It's really the only way I'd be compensated for all this aggravation. That said, he should send it first as he has proven himself untrustworthy.

If you guys could both just let this go that would be great. I don't think there's anything to be gained from more back and forth, both sides are known and not likely to change.

I said I will send you a unit once I have served customers who have paid and not cancelled without charging you anything until you receive the unit. I would be wrong doing if I'd serve you first because you are being loud on a forum. 3- There are far bigger problems in life right now than a cancelled order for a piece of equipment. Calm down. PD: Email me about what PayPal charged you on the refund, I'd be happy to send you the difference so you get your deposit back clean.

Just for the record, I have no orders in with Stam. Nor any need to curry his favour: happy with moving on.

I can’t win in this situation. I completely understand the frustration. I, on the other hand, wouldn’t have waited two years to cancel. And this is all over $400? So - your grievances have been logged in public, Stam offered a compromise, you turned it down. That’s what I hoped this place would be - a place for respectful honesty and response.

While I completely agree with you. I have to offer one criticism of Stam and any other manufacturer selling direct to US customers READ THE INTERSTATE COMMERCE CODE!!! One big requirements is if you are holding deposits for over 30 days, YOU MUST notify the customer every 30 days in writing giving them the option of a full refund ! It’s the law if you are operating in the US!

First time/long time. This is my first post but I’ve been looking and reading for a while on this site was well as the “other” sites. So please no comments on how my first post seems suspicious, etc.... But I just have to comment on the whole Stam thing. Probably long overdue as I wanted to post years ago when I got my first stam product, the SA-2A. I too waited a long time for the first order. But at no time did I feel like I was getting ripped off or scammed. When you order from Joshua you have to....with the understanding that there will be a long wait. I too was on board to get one of the first 1176’s. I ended up canceling because I couldn’t wait much longer and had a project that I really needed it for. Was refunded without incident. No questions asked. And since then have received the SA800 mic which is something else, really. Well done, Joshua. So when I hear people complaining about the wait times, I can understand and relate. But when I hear people bad mouthing or calling him a thief basically, then that’s a little harsh, imo. If you don’t want to wait, just cancel and move on. No need to trash a man’s livelihood.

I'd love to try an SA-800 at some point. The clips I've heard sound promising and I'm all about smooth sounding mics.
