How, with so many people in the same boat, do we allow this to happen?!
At think at this point, everyone has a colleague who has been frigged over by Joshua Stam. And, honestly, it’s embarrassing that we enable such a shoddy businessman. I mean he’s Mercenary Audio 2.0 waiting to happen.
Joshua, I don’t care if your gear is the best thing to be built since the Apollo spacecraft, just stop dragging all of our colleagues down.

I think people need to accept that while the gear is worth the wait, there will be a wait. Someone here, said earlier, they order and forget about it, when it shows up it’s a pleasant surprise.
If we have the option of Josh focussing on actual production or doing internet PR, I’d say go with production.

If people are told the wait time is 6 months, it should be 6 months. You can't stretch that to 2 years and blame the customer saying "you have to be patient". I like Stam Audio and Joshua, but man, I really thought this mess would be over by now. Also, defending this attitude is just plain wrong. It's a big problem for the company, not a feature.

Joshua, I don’t care if your gear is the best thing to be built since the Apollo spacecraft, just stop dragging all of our colleagues down. Considering what we are going through I find your timing for personal attacks to be of bad taste. I believe the reason why people wait for my gear is due to the quality and meticulous work I attempt daily and because of the parts we use on each unit which nobody else does.(Sowter transformers, AMI transformers, NOS tubes, ES capacitors etc..). Despite the delays and long waiting lists after 6 years of never failing to deliver a paid unit or refunding a customer I would think your ethics wouldn't be on the line but I accept the criticism. Here is a picture of the ADF. SA76 ADFEach unit is taking me 3 days of labor, I have all of my workers at home in quarantine thus I am alone at the lab. To make matters worst half of my family including my father and mother have contracted the virus, thankfully they are recuperating well after a big scare. On top of this I have hundreds of guys still waiting for their unit and I will honor each one of those orders despite having sold them without a profit. Quite a way to be shoddy uh? You would think at least you would make some money. You called me a terrible business man and have insulted me twice. I don't believe I am a terrible business man. Just so you know Sam only 6 years ago I was making minimum wage and commuting 5 hours to work daily with two little men that depended on me. I had enough for food and rent but they were my inspiration to do better and begin designing and building gear. Today I employ over 40 people at Stam Audio, I have sold and shipped thousands of units and we are moving for the 5th time to a larger facility in August. I don't think I am a terrible business man. I managed to make something of myself and despite many people being angry I have also made a lot of people happy with my craft. I might be unorthodox, unorganized but dishonest I am not. You might dislike my business model and my company and that is fine. We are all entitled to our opinions and while accept the criticism and take FULL responsibility for delays I am not keen on insults so I would be great if that could stop. With all due respect I rather get back to work rather than wasting any more of my time. To those waiting on the ADF/ADF kindly send me PM on here with your email and I will personally check your order this week to get them out Thank you

It’s not hard, folks. If you do not like it, don’t buy it. If it takes too long - or has taken too long - get a refund.

Stam was very fast to process my refunds last year. I was charged PayPal fees on the refund, but I got most of it back.

Stam was very fast to process my refunds last year. I was charged PayPal fees on the refund, but I got most of it back. I, on the other hand, did not, unfortunately. I requested refund on my ADG last year, but Josh applied the amount I’d paid for the ADG to the SA-67 I’m still waiting for, and promised me a free ADG for a few different issues we’d had instead. I thought it was a really nice gesture, but he also said the ADG would ship during the week of April 24, 2019, yet here we are over a year later with nothing. I’ve said it before: I believe Josh means well. I don’t think he’s trying to scam anyone. But the problems with his business model have been apparent for some time now. I’ve lived in parts of the world where “deadlines” don’t mean anything, so I’m not too bothered by that. I *am* bothered by specific promises of shipping dates when we’re told our gear is essentially completed, and then another *year* passes with nothing. I believe that’s a real problem. And from what I can tell, I’m not the only person who’s had similar things happen. I haven’t wanted to air these things publicly for various reasons, but I do think potential customers have a right to know what they’re getting into. I very much wish Josh the best. Lord knows I’m fully aware that unpredictable shit happens that can derail one’s life, so I have a tremendous amount of compassion for him on that front. I just think he has too much of a backlog to keep up and fully deliver. I also wonder if the squeaky wheel gets the oil (or in this case, the gear). I work pretty hard to not be a squeaky wheel in my life, and I wonder if that’s disadvantaged me in this case. Cheers to all.

Just to clarify one thing: When I offered to apply that to the 67 (which is going out this week for you) you said that was OK right? Otherwise it makes it seem as I refused the refund which I don't believe was the case.

I think people need to accept that while the gear is worth the wait, there will be a wait. Waiting 2 years+ for a product is one thing(albeit utterly ridiculous).... but constantly lying about which parts are actually in stock & shipment dates is another; it's enabling and frankly what I believe was the initial point of the the other post. Either way I for one will NEVER buy anything stam for those plethora of reasons. As an outsider it's blatantly clear this is a house a cards, the plates will only spin for so long, and once the music stops It'll be interesting to see who can find a seat and who's left standing. No one asked but my 2cents lol Only check in to these threads for the popcorn factor alone. Audioscape and many others can make me shut up and take my money all day

We have always given them the information we had at hand at the time from our suppliers and that is something we are addressing to be more accurate with our timelines. Sorry to hear you will miss out on my work but there are many other great options out there for you. Not sure what you mean by house of cards.

Congrats on moving into the new building in August Josh!! That's great news and happy to hear your family is recovering and doing better.
My stam gear makes me smile every time I use it. If you don't like the wait get a refund. It's not complicated?...

If you don't like the wait get a refund. It's not complicated?... It's not like that. People want the gear they bought on the time it was promised. Not the refund. And you loose money with the Paypal fees. Don't get me wrong, the refund policy is a nice thing, and Joshua has refunded me without problem a few times now, but that does not make up for the delays. Not at all. I would rather have the things I bought by now than 98% of the deposits I made for Stam Audio.

We would have loved it if you had the units as well but unfortunately sometimes things don’t depend on you and there is not much you can do about it. I hope next time I can serve you better and in a timely manner. I am super proud of the new 1176 ADG and ADF. We have made some improvements and it sounds incredible. Hopefully we can see some reviews on here next week!

Are the current shipping estimates on the website up to date given the current realities?

stam I received an invoice to pay the balance on my SA4000 MKII on Feb 25th, which I promptly paid the same day. I was told it would ship within 15 business days. On March 18th, I sent an email asking about the unit, as it still had not shipped. I was told it was in the QC stage. Here we are almost two months later. If my unit was indeed in the QC stage, how long does QC take? If not, was I told a lie? It has to be one or the other, right? All of this happened pre-quarantine FYI. Not angry, just asking.
