I think one of his production vulnerabilities, reading between the lines, is that our downpayments floats him his operating loan to order parts etc., but he is still in Chile so there could be shipping, receiving delays and this all compromises production schedules across each of his product lines. I get the feeling he is constantly juggling the art of the possible vs forecasted delivery dates, but this is part of his reality, so best for us to be mindful and patient ?

Group buy vibes.
Went through this with my bus comp.
I'm still tempted here... but honestly I've been using the WA76 at a local studio and it's been absolutely STOKING my client on vox. I have a bunch of time on real silver and black face 1176s, FWIW.

If he's going to play the "art of forecast vs reality" delivery game, he needs to have his communication chops in order. From my perspective, he's bitten off more than he can chew. All too consistently, he bets on things that simply don't happen the way he expects. I've said it before, I would love to have one of his pieces but there are too many red flags. Maybe this is the way the boutique gear industry works, but in my experience, too much patience borders on gullibility. It's a lot harder to be "mindful and patient" while you're waiting in the dark; I don't know how you guys do it.

^^ I sit two feet in front of an 80” display refreshing my email every 30 seconds waiting on Stam’s email drinking coffee by the gallon. It’s that big of a deal for me.

I hear all you guys but seriously where’s the surprise that he blew through the initial delivery date? I would have been more surprised if he made it! If waiting 3 months plus is a deal breaking, certainly don’t order, cus you’ll be frustrated and that’s no fun! Or drop the deposit and look up sanguine in the dictionary ! I did !

WA76 stays in the rack and the others are gone. It’s just a great 1176.

Ya I love my wa76’s too and thought this a great way to add more and supplement.
I play a lot of acoustic guitar in my songs. So very interested in the G. I send my mix by aux to my delta and ob comps: have about 12 channels, obviously the sa76 adg add 2 more but 2 more very versatile ones.

I’m looking forward to my ADG too. I knew it would be a long wait with no real communication.
I don’t think Stam is ever “surprised” by delays. They know better than anyone what the score is. I think it’s probaboy more a matter of what timeframe can they initially announce that won’t scare people off from depositing but also isn’t so far from reality that it’ll be obvious that it was never a realistic date.
Either way, the long delays and non-existent communication are what you “pay” instead of a few hundred extra bucks. We all know that going in.

I understand the wait isn't worth it for everyone, but I'm betting I guess that the upside combination of Stam's past build reputation, parts choice, 3 - 1176 revisions at the push of a button in 2 rack space at that price point is worth the downside of the wait and sparse communication for me. With his wait times and communication being generally considered by most to be inferior to his competitors, it pretty much forces him to make superior products for the price point whenever possible in order to maintain base or grow, or otherwise fade away. "If" that's right, and I'm guessing it is, it's worth the wait for me.

Part of the problem is that when placing an order not everyone is aware of the longer than quoted wait times. The bad communication then exacerbates the unfulfilled delivery dates. I've ordered high end products where I've had to wait for delivery including three custom guitars that all came in on time and a couple of custom bouzoukis that also came in on time. The one time a promised delivery date was missed was when I ordered a Hendy Rembrandt mic pre. There was a delay in chassis fabrication and Chris Hendy not only let me know, he offered me a sweet deal to speed up delivery. Instead of the Rembrandt, he offered a DaVinci at the same price. That's a $450 upgrade and he ate it just so he wouldn't disappoint a customer. So cheers to Chris Hendy!
Now I'm not saying Josh should offer upgrades for missed deliveries, but so many of the complaints would go unspoken if he was better at communicating with his customers. It's a glaring weakness in his business model and it sullies his reputation. It makes it very difficult to recommend his products to friends. I'm at a loss to understand why he chooses to let the problem continue unimproved. Maybe there's an upside from his end of which we're unaware.

The surprise here is just how good the Stam gear is once you get it.

You prefer the warm to the hairball? Well, I shouldn’t imply it’s apples to apples. I have a pair of WA76 and I’ve got a Hairball Rev A that I built. They’re just very different sounding. The Rev A is brighter/grittier and a little noisier. The WA76 is a Rev D circuit and it’s cleaner and smoother. If I had to pick one, yes I’d pick the WA76. It’s just a really versatile, pleasing sound to me. It has a 'large'-ness to it.

No hadaja, I've only heard some files of the GA47 online, and have never seen a Stam 47. I'm expecting to get the Stam SA67 soon though.
Ragan, when I had the WA76, it definitely worked as it should.

I got an email today saying, "The first 150 SA-76ADG orders will start shipping in 8 weeks. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. " That's for the July folks; I'm in the September batch. This is probably going to be a Nov-Dec deal.

I just got an email saying I was in the second batch and that I would be getting mine in Sept. So I guess that means end of 2018 maybe?
However, I STILL have never gotten a reply from Stam for either of the emails I've sent asking about getting my pair of 1073eq and the 76adg shipped at the same time to save on shipping costs.
I've also inquired twice now about why I am in the second batch of 76adg when I ordered the unit less than two hours after they were announced. Either he sold 100 (apparently 150) units REALLY quick, or a mistake was made. Either way, no answer.

Can I just say I really like the SA-4000, I think its a great product at a great price and because of this I patiently wait for the other products to ship.

Well for what it’s worth, I didn’t expect July and thought up to 3 months slip, so Sept and looks like the first shipments will now be in September.
This may sound odd but haven’t other launches been delayed longer so 3 months is actually an improvement?

You had the WA47 in your studio at some point though, right? Yes, I had it for a few weeks, and my buddy Dusty Wright bought it. The tube was funky, Warm sent a new one, and then it sounded really good. It happened to be a really good fit for my friend, and the price was affordable, so he grabbed it.
