SA-EQP1AHappy to introduce our take on this classic which needs no introduction. All 3 transformers, audio grade capacitors. We did something extremely special with this one as we decided to fusion the Pultec EQP1-A with the MEQ-5. We also added an output gain control on the Faceplate for stereo operation. • Class A, all discrete circuit • Cinemag Input and Interstage transformer • Sowter output transformer • Cinemag Inductors • Vishay Capacitors • Original circuit and schematic • MEQ5’s mid band section added (bypass) • Premium 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes • No insertion loss • XLR and TRS transformer balanced inputs • XLR and TRS transformer balanced outputs • Low frequency boost • Low frequency cut • Mid Frequency cut • High frequency boost • High frequency cut • Switchable 115/230 volt IEC power inlet • Dimensions: 19 x 3.5 x 6 inches - 2RU rack mountable • 2-year warranty STOCK PRICE: $999.00 PRE-ORDER PRICE: $899.00 FIRST 100 TO RESERVE: $769.00 NEXT BATCH: MAY 2018 stamaudio.com/sa-eqp1.html

Hi y'all.
For those of you who've jumped in with both feet; why STAM's offering? Have you looked at the Warm or Klark Teknik?

is there a high freq boost? I think that may have been a typo when he first posted. It looks like he's fixed it now. If you look at his website, the pic clearly shows the usual HF boost.

If Stam didn't the deposit and wait strategy I would say we probably have the winner in the budget Pultec war but it is what it is.

This will be my 4th piece of Stam gear. I was one of the first guys to order an SA-2A. Every piece I love and they have been rock solid for me. I also love the deposit method because it allows me to break up the funding and makes it more manageable. Sure you have to wait but quite frankly I have been doing the audio game for over 25 years so 10 months to wait for a piece that I will hopefully be using for the next 25 is a fair exchange to me. Oh yea and I'm a Stam fan boy.

Yeah I'm not against the idea, it's just not for all their have been some who just can't deal with the not knowing when and have had communication issues, that said I can think of many more who have at times put down full deposit with order and waited over a year on some of the biggest names in pro audio who made Stam look like the most communicative person alive. The difference being they had a dealer who would fight for them and the rights under their local & interstate commerce laws!

Yea, great point ericn. It's not for everyone. I had a dude build me an 1176 and some capi pre's and he fell off the face of the earth and wouldn't return emails. Than 10 months later I got a tracking number and that I paid the full amount. Joshua always attempted to stay in communication. There was a lot of set backs but he seamed straight up about it. And the gear absolutely delivered when it got here.

I have more than enough gear at this point, and I'm quite pleased with the KT's. I think I will pass on these, but I may be sorry somewhere down the line..... Doing the mid-band is a great idea. Let's see how the implementation in the real world actually works out. Is there a WORKING version of this yet? I hope for those buying in early that he can actually pull it off.

And the gear absolutely delivered when it got here. As the world moves more and more towards service industries less and less people are directly exposed to the world of manufacturing and the required supply chain. This means a large number do not understand how easy it is for something really stupid to upset a production schedule! Josh tries but one little hiccup and he's screwed.

I just bit the bullet. Slurred timelines aside, Stam has really good stuff, built to last.
It said 769.00 on Facebook, but the website - which has been acting up a bit- is saying 799.00 for the preorder price. Anybody know the final tally on that?

Does Joshua sleep? How he gets all these differing and demanding products up and running is amazing to me. Having said that, I reckon with those who are still waiting for things after a lengthy time and the less than accurate availability dates and innaccuracies on his site, I would be happier to see him not spread himself so thin and actually complete stuff before announcing new. it causes me to pause in ordering more.
Having said that, I very much like the SA 87 I have as well as the well intentioned communication I had with Joshua and am particularly interested how his 67 stacks up against the Neumann re-issue.
And.........I reckon I want/need his 4000, LA 2, 67, Pultec x2 !
Just my ramblings....
Cheers, Ross

Are you guys buying gear without knowing it even exist or how does it sound?
Yet I'm not even talking about quality of construction and assembling.
