I've got the new beta going too. Much slicker GUI, same functionality.
I want that mobile app. Or rather, I have the mobile app, I want Symphony compatibility.
Edit: well, there's more functionality. Some cool stuff. I like the "essentials" window, cleanly gives you the basics and you can have it open all the time without taking up a lot of screen real estate.

It's not a feature. Here's why: I can go into logic X, add an Aux Track set to the same input my microphone is plugged into, set it to send to the reverb, and i'll hear reverb without having the audio track my mic is plugged into either record enabled, or input monitored. That's just how AUX tracks work in Logic. They're always listening to their input. if you set them to a hardware input, you'll hear your analog inputs regardless of if they're input-monitored, record-enabled, muted, or none of the above on other tracks. Again, this is not a feature. Their 'FX SEND LEVEL" is doing the exact same thing as if I just adjust the send level on that aux track. You'll notice that they set it to +0.0 in the Logic Mixer. s30.postimg.org/uh2fov1z5/Screen_Shot_2017_03_23_at_6_01_34_AM.pngAgain, you can do this with ANY DAW. Regarding being able to adjust it remotely, just grab the Logic Remote app for iPad. help.apple.com/logicremote/ipad/1.3.1/logicpro/#/chs97c9f8922

Ya, that's my take on it too, nicely refreshed gui in terms of looks. I guess no one knows better than Apogee CS, the extent to which peeps got maestro or not, but there were certainly lots of negative comments: maybe drop downs are easier for people to grasp ?
I personally record about 5-7 feet (just use extra bars count in bars) from my computer, so the remote thing isn't a big deal for me and I don't have an ipad, but that would be nice for the precision of punching in.
I'd like an ipad but if I was spending $350 or so US, I'd rather buy OB eqs.
Anyway, so far, no probs with the beta, pleased about that. As a previous avid user, I was completely used to how new software to solve previous bugs never being clean and always having others problems: seems like apogee got the gui refresh right.

I understand any daw can set up an aux, but is there any advantage to the apogee latency specs that also you to use plugs in your daw for monitoring during tracking ?
As an X Apollo user , this was always such a big selling feature of the Apollo platform.
Anyway, a few months into using the S mkii and I am certainly very pleased with its specific and overall performance.

I use a wireless usb keyboard / mouse setup for that. Probably $50 at most. Works on laptops too.

No. There is no way some 3rd party software is affecting the buffer size the DAW is using to render any plugins or audio tracks. Apogee just added a non-feature and is selling it as a feature.

Well I don't care in the slightest about the semantic argument you're making surrounding the word "FEATURE'. The fact that you now have a fader for it in the monitoring app associated with the Apogee Symphony is a new 'FEATURE' of that app, regardless of what you like to do with your DAW. Of course you can use and aux in a DAW. With hardware, software, whatever.

I was kind of hoping we could talk more about how people are using the new gui and or any tricks with it ?
I never did much tracking with UA plugs in its gui (console) with Apollo and I typically use OB while I am tracking.
Still getting to know the apogee ecosystem, so changes to me are interesting. I didn't invest too much in trying to really understand maestro, other than getting it working, as I knew the new controller was coming and was more interested in it.
Is anybody running the apogee module with its on board pres: curious about what that experience is like ?

Of course, you're hearing the latency from the daw send...but you can't tell if it's something like reverb.

I wouldn't consider it any kind of secret that you can use auxes in a DAW.

Exactly, so this "feature" has been available since Logic 7, just not in a separate, iOS app.

Ok, Chuck.
HENCEFORTH LET NOT THE PLEBEIANS SPEAKETH OF THINE CONTROL APP FADER FOR THE SENDING OF EFFECTS AS A "FEATURE", FOR THOUGH IT BE A NEWLY INTEGRATED CHARACTERISTIC OF SAID CONTROL APP, LO, IT HAS BEEN AVAILABLE IN OTHER APPS ANTECEDENTLY AND SHOULD NEVER THUS BE SPAKETH AS ARCHETYPICAL OF SYMPHONY CONTROL.
