That's not a euphemism for "your junk", is it?
BTW - you can click on the "picture" button above if you want to insert the pic on the board...

Nice looking place , love the name . Looks like its in a basement ?? My place is a ghetto home studio , but I do have arcade games . I always wondered if arcade games could act as bass defusers . Probably not because the acoustics still suck .

Lets see what you have. Just no shenanigans. Damn, and I was going to post selfies of a friend of mine! Sitting at my desk, of course.

It's in a basement unfortunately, but it's been acoustically treated 100%. the ceiling is dropped and filled with 12" of packed fiberglass with 6lb rock wool bass traps in the corners. The walls are double leaf, double walled. The soundproof door is hollow and filled with sand. Overall, 150db in the room becomes 70db outside the room. The control room ceiling is the same way but with a cloud arrangement. The cinderblocks sound pretty good. They aren't quite live as wood would be, but not dead either. It's more of an ambient sound. I wanted to cover them with a false wall but I think the sound is fine so I left them open.
I designed the room in Google Sketchup and learned everything I could from the Sayer's forum before I did anything so I could get everything to fit without having to compromise and sound as good as possible without spending stupid amounts of money. It worked out pretty well.

This is the view out the window, when you finally get to the top of the stairs... the studio's on the third floor, which is great exercise for someone with a drum kit, or a portable marimba, but an insurmountable obstacle to some people, believe me or not...

It reminds me of Electrical Audio , Kentucky for some reason . I guess the stone walls .

That looks awesome gouge !! The first pic looks like Batman's secret hideout in the BatCave . I could see Batman sitting there analyzing some audio he has of the Joker . Also like Asteroids on the wall in the Guitar room .

cheers guys, very glad you like it.
well spotted with the asteroids. my mate is referred to as the master of craft. give him a sheet of acoustic foam and a blade and he'll whip up a vintage neve! he also did a pacman game which is hidden behind the guitar rack.
out in the lounge room, which gets used for drums, there's 2 pinball machines, a bar and a table arcade game. it's the second studio we've built together and I hope he never gets divorced, sells his house or dies.!

Yeah, those are standard broadband 4" rockwool absorbers but I used an acoustic equation to find out the hole sizes and spacing to create essentially a low pass filter so that the room doesn't lose too much of the high frequencies. Those are simply holes drilled into a 1/4" birch plywood panel that is attached to the front of the absorbers. Seems to work pretty good by ear although I spent no time actually measuring the results to compare to the math.

Thanks guys. I built most everything, including the rooms, racks, mixer console from scratch. It was nothing more than an empty basement. I'm a huge fan of simple and modern. Most everything is utilitarian and I try to build stuff modular so I can move it and change it if needed. I'm always experimenting!

I'm always experimenting! you've done a fantastic job there. it's all the much better when you've done it yourself. i'm a building designer by day and have a reference file of architectural images I use regularly. I've also collected studio images over the years as that's my side passion. i'll be adding your studio to my reference file svart.

that looks like a very well thought out space Javier,
I got a little excited at the tape machine and it's located in a great spot to see the meters. your window down low to view the live room avoids reflections as well. nice one. that live room is huge! and it has a couch. comfort!
I've always liked the idea of control room upstairs. like electrical audios layout.
