I just got Softube Console 1 and it looks like it will be replacing any other EQ, transient designer, gate, saturation and almost every compressor!
I'll still use some Slate stuff though.

I haven't had experience with Fab Filter's plugs, but have a hunch I'd like them more than many others. I'm going to cheat a little here, Logic comes with some useful things, so I'm covered for a few plugs I might otherwise have wanted, so, .. Ten Plugs?
* UAD Ocean Way * Relab XL480 * Slate VBC * UAD 1176 * UAD LA2A * UAD Ampex ATR-102 * UAD EMT-140 or Waves Abbey Road (I'm getting that soon, so I'll pick the plate I prefer) * De-Esser, ( have all the Waves ones, but I've heard that the Fab Filter is the best * UAD Pultecs * Waves SSL Channel strips * Massive Passive EQ, (or an equivalent 2 bus EQ)
oops, that's 11, sorry ;-)I could live without the EMT-140 or Abbey Road
I'd use Logic's Compressors for the 2 bus, and Logic's channel EQ, Delay, Flex Pitch, but I didn't count them because they come with the DAW ;-) There are a few more plugs 'd miss, but can easily do without.

That's more than 10, and I use the FF stuff a lot too. I probably use about 35% of what I own regularly, mostly because I know how to get results with them.

I thought that was for dubbing vinyl records.

The best way to describe it, say you had a sound that you get from a poor edit.. you know the little click.. its good at removing those. I also find, it can soften the attack of my bass playing a touch. cheers Wiz

...so pretty much everyone uses Fabfilter Pro Q 2!! Proof if you needed it, that you don't have to just slavishly recreate designs of the past. Give us an easy to use, good sounding functional tool, and we WILL use it.
Top job Fabfilter
and for the complete opposite of this, I just saw that Klark Teknik have made an exact replica of the 1176 blackface. Just one question really - WHY?
