My plans to have my receiver repaired didn't work out. Got a little Adcom amp, a video/rca switcher, and a Big Knob Passive for the home system instead. Hoping to get more music flowing at home; finally got a new turntable a few weeks back (preamp built in). What kind of receiver? What's wrong with it?

RTZ 9762 Dual Combo Preamp 2 3’ XLR F To 1/4” TRS New1080p LG 27” 1080p hdmi Monitor Screen ( one I have went to shit/ killing creativity/ flow/ energy) RTZ original prototype build before any commercial gear ( 1 Of 1 )
Had a great day ( was there a few hours ) yesterday with Bob Starr At RTZ Studios/ HQ.. His Studio is dope and extremely top of the top build wise. He also built it all himself. Analog Studio, no interface, no computer... Control room and live room double walled with 8” rock wool, sealed doors etc. Definitely plenty of space for each musician to be isolated. He used Ampex mm1200 24 track 2” tape machine, Soundcraft Ghost 24 tracks, 4 aux, 4 Subgroups. We tested out his Preamps on vocals, kick and snare. I was very impressed.. my headphones and my mic so I would have a check point to make testing the units worthwhile. He showed me the 9762 on the Precision Analyzer. How it is tested and explained the results to me. .. My pre weighs 20 lbs, unit is super heavy and built like a tank!
After we re- boxed up the unit after testing, he started showing me some prototype builds, as well some of the components that go into the circuit/ preamp. Also showed me a few of his 500 series PEQ1549 Eq’s, those are exceptional and dam they’ re heavy...
As I was going to leave, Mr Starr gives me a unit. Idk what it is lol but it looks like a DIY pre + eq or maybe just eq. He then tells me it was his very first prototype of mic pre design which includes DI, phase with passive eq and it’s made with real neve boards.. Shocked as hell, I say Are you sure? 😂 He says yes laughing and shows me the control layout briefly and then helps me take everything to my car where we chat for another 30 minutes!
Awesome experience and it felt good to be able to support a local company. Also, if there is ever any issue, I don’t have to worry about shipping. I can go 30 minutes up the road to RTZ HQ and get taken care of 🤠

Static and distortion on the right side across all three outputs. It lived in Half Moon Bay for some of its life and had some serious rust issues as well.

5 early 90's Daking 52270 mic pre eqs with the dual-concentric pots. Going to mic up some drums, and also use the line input for mixing.

John, how do Marshalls compare to HiWatts? Cabs? Hiwatts are significantly heavier and somewhat stiffer than typical Marshalls but they also usually have Fane speakers which are a higher quality, generally somewhat more powerful cast frame speaker than the typical Marshall stamped frame Celestions. They are not, however as stiff as Boogie 4x12s, or at least that's my impression.

I kept running out of bus comps and decided I needed a second SSL style VCA Bus comp. Thought about the Stam. Re-read all the nightmares and horrible communications and delays.....decided it wasn't worth the wait or the potential hassles.
So I ordered an Audio-Scape GSSL which comes with the "turbo mod" stock, for $649 to my door, sweet deal, made in USA. I got it in FOUR (4) days from payment, then FedEx managed to mangle the first one. Chris @ A-S took care of me big time, and I had a second one that came USPS in 3 days - Unmangled. Problem solved....
Very happy with the service and the unit itself.

Scored a great deal on a pair of sequentially numbered Distressors...unused and never opened. Cherry.

I've just got meself a, uh, new drum set!! Gretsch Renown Maple in Blue Metal sparkle wrap. I get giddy every time I go over there and look at them. For some reason I thought I would never be able to budget "good" drums. Trusty Pearl Exports are now on standby. Sweetwater has these for $400 less than anywhere else because the Blue Metal finish is being 'closed out'. I think it's kind of pretty. Suddenly, my snare drum collection doesn't seem so fancy.

I strongly suggest that you shock mount all of the microphones.

I’m with bob on that one. Those clips can also tend to change the resonance of the toms when using triple flanged hoops.

I think I lucked out and bought online the best sounding D12E I have ever heard!

Well, I spotted a Yamaha ML8 for $200 and couldn't pass it up. More like $250 with shipping and Euroblock connectors.

Here's the Retro Sta Level I picked up along with the EMT 140. Apart from a few fingerprints it looks perfect. $1900 USD or thereabouts.

I might be interested, let me know what you want for it or if there's anything you're looking for in trade. I have 15" Hats, and 18" and 20" Multis and the 24" would be nice to have
