Just got a c37p. Excited to use that and the c37a as oh. Get some wide happening. As a Sony Condenser fan I'm very Jealous You need to try the C535 SDC not a KM84 but not as expensive! Still picked over the 84 in the no longer made catagory in the Mike Jasper's giant TapOp Survey! the guy I got the c37p from tried to sell me one. Haven't heard one or heard of it so I didn't jump. I have 2 84's so it could be a bit redundant for me. Not that it has stopped me in the past. 😐

Bought this to trial against my slate / softube / IK software comps. Gonna try it on various sources to see how it holds up. I figured if you can squeeze a fet into a 500 unit then this is just as viable with a trs adapter. These cost £279 over here. 100% Class-A discrete signal path Classic, ultra fast “FET” response Studio-grade discrete-transistor preamp Dedicated Attack, Release and Ratio controls Dry Blend control for parallel compression Rugged jewel-lamp gain reduction metering Optimised for guitar but can process any source High-current, low-noise electronics Ultra-wide frequency response Ultra-high input impedance Silent switching High-quality “signal-conditioning” bypass mode Premium components throughout Advanced power supply filtering and protection Flexible external power requirements (9-18V DC) PSU Spec. 77mA @ 9V / 104mA @ 18V Designed and built in England

Near mint 14" Kerope hats for a low price. the 22" ride really blows my mind so I decided to see what the hats can add to the kit.

That ride through the Coles 4038 with some nice outboard is just what I had been searching for.
I had some 70s new beat hats that sound ok in the room but are too sharp as a recording. Im confident the Keropes will smooth out that issue.

I'm having the same problem with my 14" New Beats. I was thinking K but I'll have to check out the Kerope hats as well!

I was thinking K but I'll have to check out the Kerope hats as well! from the demos I have heard the Keropes are ultra mellow. a pro drummer once told me that Keropes only sound good with other Keropes on a whole kit. not sure I agree. right now I have the 22 Kerope right side, 20 K Con left side, 18 Special Dark Crash kick stand and now the Kerope hats should be here Saturday. Im excited to see how they all interact.

New Beats are pretty heavy, especially 70's and beyond (I think they redesigned them a year or two ago) so they are loud and cutting. I think Kerope's would pair nicely with the K Custom Dark crashes, or Istanbul Agop.

I'm in the market for some dark, not loud hats. Was thinking K 13" maybe? Crashes are K Custom Dark 16" and 18", ride is an old Zildjian hollow logo something or other. Hats advice? sean john

I've never owned a pair of 13" hi-hats, but 14" there is a lot to choose from. I really like the mycymbal.com website because you can compare a lot of different cymbals that are all nicely recorded, and recorded the same way. I would check out the Zildjian Kerope and K Constantinople, and Agop 30th Anniversary and Agop Signature hats and see what you think. I think if you get too light you open hi-hat sound can be a bit washy/crunchy, but it can be cool sound but probably not what you want if you only have one set of hi-hats. The 30th Anniversary's are what I'd consider extremely light. They are similar to the old Zildjian Avedis "thin" hats or "matched" hats from the 50's and 60's, where the top and bottom are about the same weight.
A nice thing about the Kerope and Constantinople line is you can buy just a top hat, so you could buy a pair and then get another top that is close to the weight of the other a similar weight to give you that sound as well.
They also make some really dark cymbals, like the Meinl Extra Dry and Zildjian K Custom Special Dry lines. Again, a cool sound but probably not what you want as an only option.

REcent purchases and additions have been more guitar centric lately.
Finished two highly customized Tele builds... plus bought another 1982 Les Paul. This time a standard in Tobacco Sunburst. Had to buy a set of shawbukers separately. Also picked up a 1936 'Ward' acoustic guitar - made by Gibson.
And a ton of speakers too. Greenbacks, tone tubby chicago blues, Celestion blue back AlNiCo's, Celestion gold AlNiCo's etc . . . 11 in total so far. Doing up the Marshall cabinets and Vox AC30s. Might build a custom cab for the Seymour Duncan convertible head.

Looks like I just grabbed another sample of Ward's nominiee for ugliest Shure ever, the 548SD Unidyne 4, some say the Smoothest of the Unidyne family tree. You guys know my addiction to cheep dynamics, if only we still had some sleeper Condensers.

Went to local good used shop for 1 low e string came back with it and a used set of adam a7s:): only $800 cdn.
Cosmetically they are a little beat up but sound fine.
I had the 7x's new: oddly I seem to prefer the 7!
Wiz you are running 7's right ? I got them set flat, they might be a little throaty in the low mids but snare sounds crisp and bass and kick are easily distinguishable!

I know another Nash cat using the A7X's. He dumped the expensive S3X's not sure why, maybe a room size change possibly? I used to use the A7X's, not a bad set, but I sold them and I still feel that my monitoring needs a raise.

Which is always the case with cymbals.
