Do you have a money tree? Yes I do. I planted it in college and it grew into a fruitful career.

Looking at a heritage 10 space rack... how does the parallel outputs work if the main outputs are sending signal? Is it unbalanced and suffer Db loss ? I have never used 500 series rack. That's awesome you went to college and worked hard to have a great career. Do you ever have time to use all the wonderful gear you buy?

Have both hooked up and use whichever you want. I'll have db25 snakes running into it for my amlez1073. Then xlr for the line inputs to use the eq section during mixing.

That is the plan!! I didn't even have time to test it today because I've been repairing and re-hauling my shoddy 251 build for the past 24 hours. I have leveled up as a mic building guy, after hacking away at it for a few years.
I predict that tomorrow, the e906 and 251 are going to be doing eguitar and vocals on something or another.

I'd love to hear those snares from the previous page. Good finds gents! Once I got really ambitious and was going to record 4 or 5 drum kits I had and compare them, loaded them up and didn't really get past two different bass drums and a couple snare But, I think after I do some website redesign I might mic up the house kit and record and video some different snares and cymbals for A/B purposes

Chandler Zener Limiter finally arrived. It is awesome. I have the UAD plugin and my impression is that is has a more immediate/urgent sensation to it. It also has more headroom of course 'cos it's hardware. So far, immediate smiles on drum bus. On 2-bus, I'll have to learn it a bit over the next few weeks but the more modern compression seems to do nice things and the THD is awesome. Drum bus -> Zener -> Zulu - > RND 5060 with red silk is quite something on a rock track! Attachments:

I picked up a Symetrix 538E that Jim Williams will be modding to help it to become a grander incarnation of itself, an Electro Harmonix QTron and a nice 25 string circular lap harp (the tuning to be determined as the need arises). I also bought another small teuchel to xlr adaptor for some of my older microphones.

New audio interface day! Pretty excited about this one. I also have a Pro 40 coming in the mail next week. I only paid a total of $349 for both units! That's kind of insane. Now I don't have to be jealous of all the guys with Digi 002 around town. Got my own Firewire 400 discontinued rig going. I'm not sure if/when the Pro 40 is or will be discontinued, but they are being blown out right now. The latest driver is a little less than a year and a half old, and does work with the latest Windows 10. The Pro 24 is discontinued for sure, but they use the same driver and can be run as a combined unit, which gives me massive analog/digital I/O. My plan is to make a mini-stack of this Pro 24 with two Tascam UH-7000 running in SPDIF for a sweet little 8 track rig. Still only have a single UH-700 right now. This is my B-room / travel rig so the mini stack idea, combined with a medium rack of the Pro 40 plus whatever ADAT box, gives me a modular, very portable setup where I can easily grab more or less gear based on my needs. The low price is going to keep me from wanting to sell it. I haven't recorded it yet, but the outputs do sound nice. I had a Scarlett a while back, but the Saffire is better and cheaper, and suits my needs more. I'm really curious how it's going to run, eventually, on an i7 PC at the lowest buffer settings. One of the things going for the Saffires/Scarletts are decent latency figures out in the real world. Probably won't compete with the Thunderbolt stuff, but we will see.

I really like the "Bloom" presets. One of the flanger/doubler presets (patch 59) is my favorite. It also has some cool reverse reverbs and a slap preset that sounds good when you hit it really hard. I spent a couple hours running through the sounds and came across 6 or so I really liked.
