sold my ARP, a guitar, a API 550B and a kidney to hop on the moog model d price drop. oy vey. My buddy brought over a jx3p a while back. Sounded fantastic. I ended up with an HS-60. I bet my big toe that model d is the boss. Actually I don't have to bet, we all know it is. . I can't afford to try one in person. Have the sickest time with that beast man!

Bought this new Jack Casidy bass at a yard sale for 1/2 price. Got the CP540 in one day. Wasn't planning for a Saturday delivery, so the UPS man dropped it over the 6' gate into my courtyard. Lucky it was double boxed with peanuts. Bent the corner and styrofoam on the inter box. Looks like it's O.K. I'll test it out later this week. Picked up a Klon Centaur, Tube D.I. from Russia ( took 2 1/2 months to get. Thought it was lost in the mail. ) and that DIY transistor tester. Modified six MXL mics. An NOS pair of silver badged UTC A-10 input transformers for SA-2a's Attachments:

The v72's came today and I got to do a session with them.. I have the mercury m72s as well. they are wonderful, but the tele's are more than a little rounder and mellow. V72/v76 do this thing where it's never ever harsh, just round and mellow. I have this image in my head when I hear it. The analogy is if the audio going through it was my body, the audio coming out the other end is like an outer body experience, like I'm outside the sound looking at it. Like there is this aura around the sound. I have a feeling fearn pres do this trick too but I've never heard them.
I hope this post isn't too ridiculous. It's just like, my opinion, man...

Don't have any originals but do have a Mercury Bruder with one channel of V72s and the other a V76m. The V72 channel is velvety thick and rich while the V76 is a little more open and hi-fi. Although I would still like to get an original V72 to see how it compares. An original V76 is out of the ballpark however.

I've been on more of a guitar kick lately In addition to the afore-mentioned Seymour Duncan Convertible head, and the SD Convertible cabinet, please the 1977 Marshall JMP Mark 2 50 watt master with the cascading gain, I also pick up a pair more 1960A cabinets and a 1974 Marshall 50 watt non master (model 1987) head.
I've also spent about $2000 on gold plated parts for two natural telecasters under construction.
So there's budget blown. again. Man, this is one expensive addiction!!

I have an original 72 8P Cheers Wiz Did it come with fungus ππ? I believe you misspelled "black mould and mildew" which the creepy=crawly continent is known for due to it's average temperature of 150ΒΊ and relative humidity of 200%

Yes ... Rob did it... he posted a photo on Facebook. It's in a wooden sleeve Cheers Wiz Cool. How's it sounding? Did it need a recap etc? It didn't need much doing to it.. a new tube was all... It sounds divine.... 8) Incredible with the KM84 on acoustic guitar... and on vocals with my U87 as well. If I was starting out again.. I would get two of these... a KM84 and a U87 and stay away from the internet.... 8) cheers Wiz

Picked up a couple of pre-Altec 633A mics. I've been wanting one for a while and the opportunity presented itself.
