Yeah, she's a beauty. And I like that she can do mono or dual mono too.

I predict I will stick with the Moog for a long time.

MS-20 mini in the hizzouse. Only just flirting with the surface today, but it has all the attributes of a quality instrument, from build to sounds. Also I think the patchbay is going to teach me some basics about synth design that I haven't uncovered yet.

Just won a local auction for a Revox A77. Makes an excellent anchor for a mid sized Lund Lund ? Never an aluminum POS! If there is a ever a boat that I shall never own, grew up spending my weekends in Shell Lake WI where Lund made all their Fiberglass boats till they didn't. Shell Lake became a mini version of Detroit during the meltdown. Maybe a Donzi Sweet 16, not big enough for Carver.

How hard would it be to put balanced stereo outs on there? Anyway - what is your work around for it? In the past I've just used an adaptor splitter and gone into di's

In the past I've just used an adaptor splitter and gone into di's Once I'm darned sure I'm not sending it back, which I pretty much am, I'll probably drill some holes in the back or sides for some full sized 1/4" output jacks. That bugs me too. I used to DI my synths, but these days, I have them all patched across a bunch of Mackie 1202 VLZ4 channels through the line inputs... works great and best of all there is not interacting with the computer until it's time to record. Mackies go straight to the monitor controller so I can jam whenever I want.

Another solution would be to upgrade to the MS20 Kit or MS20M Kit version, which besides having 1/4 jacks, are a considerable step up in quality (assuming you assemble them properly).

New Drum Gear. In order: Zildjian K Custom Organic Ride, Pork Pie B20 Snare 6.5 x 14" Maple, and Gretsch Taylor Hawkins Signature steel snare. If you want to entirely change the feel and sound of your kit, just change the snare and ride. Since I watch a lot of Radiohead, and a friend of mine is a big K guy, I really wanted a heavily hammered K ride, and the Organic ride does not disappoint. It's bright, but dry. A farily large cymbal, but does not overpower the kit. Also on the Radiohead spectrum, the big Pork Pie maple snare provides a much needed sound that I was not getting from my metal drums. More sensitive and earthy sounding. I have a lot of metal snares, so this purchase was sort of the antidote to those. I suppose not everything needs to go to eleven. A softer stroke, but still with power. And quite the opposite, the Taylor Hawkins Gretsch steel snare provides a huge rock drum sound. The top is warm and the bottom is round and full, with crack and volume for days. It's a unique sound that I did not have in my collection. I know a few people on this forum were asking about it, and I would say it's a great drum, especially for used or demo prices. Great for the heavy hitters.
