That looks like a pretty sweet device. I have no idea why my brain went here, but reading up on that thing made me curious about putting your setup into an endless inception loop. What would happen if you picked off part of the output of the silver bullet and ran it into the sidechain insert of the compressor that was on the insert of the silver bullet? Would that be like the Ghostbusters crossing their streams?
I unwisely followed your suggestion, and am now stuck in 1724, writing this with a quill and ink!
I'm not necessarily a history buff but if I recall correctly they were still using musket balls back then. A silver bullet would be a brand new invention! You're going to be rich :-)

Just got this puppy in the mail and fired 'er up. Wonderful device! It's an Analogue Addicts dual mono/stereo RS124 clone and the build quality form the exterior is phenomenal. All smooth action on knobs and crsip clicks on toggles and switches. This RS124 thing is so brilliantly baffling! It's got such amazing intricacy and interaction on the input/threshold, output pad, release Hold and attack hold/bypass. Like crazy flexibility rather than what I thought was going tp be a one-trick-pony. I've only been dialing knobs and flicking switches for a couple of hours, and muh lady is now emphatically stomping about upstairs looking for someone to make her food so my time on this device for today is done. But I'll upload some sound examples soon. Before that though I need to figure out how to use the interactivity! Because I (of course) didn't read the instructions from Analogue Addicts I was joyously limiting into a fixed hold release for a few minutes and marveling at the way it sounded like a limiter until I realized I needed to read the instructions so I could actually compress lol.

I always come across their stuff on reverb. Good to know it’s solid stuff.

I always come across their stuff on reverb. Good to know it’s solid stuff. Yeah I got this off reverb directly from AA. Great communication. He has a few RS124 devices with the same circuity of various color schemes and form factors (2U vs 3U and knob placement). I believe the ones he's got listed on reverb are mostly/partially built from our conversation, and then any final configurations or customizations and the user's country power rating is accommodated. Although I don't have much space here, I elected to save a few hundred bucks going with the larger 3U form factor and the cream white model. From what I've seen and heard so far you might want to check out AA's offerings. I've been interested in his preamps for quite some time, but it was a comp that I ended up starting with.

I’ve had my eye on this one! Up until now, I haven’t known anyone that owned any of their gear so I’m very interested in hearing more about it when you have time. Thanks.

I’ve had my eye on this one! Up until now, I haven’t known anyone that owned any of their gear so I’m very interested in hearing more about it when you have time. Thanks. You got it! I'll put it through a couple of workouts and then report back. Your super insightful and informative RS124 videos are one of the reasons I've been super keen on one. Two Chandler RS124s would be way outside by price range at this point, so I'm really hoping that this AA device can offer good value and function; namely that luscious, gooey compression action. If I can figure out how to get reasonably competent with it perhaps I could run some audio though it for you with your guidance on what your be looking for. If it's channels match really well, it's low noise and it vari-mu's in a way that complements my other mono one (VComp) them I'll be happy. At about $2100 USD that will be worth it. An Aussie works have been to get a second VComp but I wanted to add RS124 style rather than double up on Stalevel. The only thing that concerns me at this point is that I can't figure out how to get the lid off to look at the gutz and there are zero vents. My nightmare is that I'll finally crack it open and there will be nothing there but a digital emulation circuit and some lead shot to stimulate transformer weight lol. A Potemkin village comp. Just kidding of course. Kind of. I need to see gutz. Anyhoo, I snuck a little bit more time with it this evening. Tried it as a mix buss glue finisher right before the Stam MEQP-1AS+. Still learning them both so I'll wait a bit to upload an example. So far the times of attach release and HPF have been really flexible. I played a lot and settled on a slow attack and medium release with the GR meter bobbing around at about -1.5 dBu that had the GR undulating with the wailing female vocal and just barely tickling with the pumping bass and kick. Pretty neat. But much exploration still to do, so judgement reserved for now.

A friend was selling a Yamaha YC-10 combo organ and pulled the trigger, sort of in admitting defeat on my Farfisa Compact. The Yamaha is, well, more compact and not as much of a headache. Those sound great. Copped pink Gotham GAC-2 mic cables to brighten my day. Also a lime green Gotham GAC-3 mic cable. Standardized on Gotham GAC-3 here years ago. What is it about them that you're into?

Are you going to have JW do his magic? It would be perfect if it was a Venue 2 with theatre modules, love being able to configure auxes pre/post on the fly!

The best "Train" one liner... Is a Monorail. I almost married a Lady(!) railroad enginee. But we ended up decoupling. See Eric I'm really trying to... Further elevate my humour.

The in/out, hard and soft knee and power supply to each strip will be controlled by stealing some of the group mutes, i do most aux work in the box and the remaining 3 aux's will be more than enough for outboard effects I use, i still will have all the inserts available as well, should be a long semi fun project, if i finish one strip every 2 weeks it'll take about a year so that means 2! lol

But If you can find a Schematic for the Soundcraft Europa it might be interesting to copy those variable filters, it would be really fun to find a schematic for a decent filter that let you change the type of filter / slope. Good luck with the fader automation.

I ordered some output transformers to compare for an La3a clone - Ed Anderson, Sowter, UA reissue, and (a used) Vintage Urei --> not sure when I will get around to the comparison but should be interesting.

I love getting into the weeds like this, definitely report back to us on that, the diffs will probably be pretty subtle?
