They are good ! Effortless ! And the possibility to balance clipper vs limiter via "rich density" is excellent. 380 euros for two units, it's hard to beat.
I like the 720 sound more than the 723 sound. I think they use a different VCA chips. At some point I'd like to try the 700 too, which is said to be less transparent than the 720 and 723.
Eric, do you have an opinion on the Orban Optimod 8100a ?

Just ordered a Buzz Audio Zodiak Tilt equalizer (version with discrete opamps and the Lundahl transformers)! Waited to make sure I'd survive tax season to buy it :-)

I bought another AML 5003D (used). I had one - well, I actually had a pair at one time, but sold one to a friend along time ago. I asked him a couple years ago if he'd sell it back to me and he said "no way!". But I've found it's handy to have pair's of 500 preamps. These have really nice Carnhill transformers and if you drive them they really get some cool harmonics. I used the one I had for vocals a lot. The only downside is that I removed a preamp from my rack. Well, I actually have 2 empty slots in one of the racks, but I told myself I would sell one to buy the second 5003D. But the only "singles" I have right now are a Hairball Gold, a Copper (but I have 2 others) or a Hairball Bronze (and I really like what it does on outside kick). So I don't really want to part with any of those. But the gold is removed at the moment. I think I already have 19 preamps (now 20) and I only have 16 input channels so I probably don't really need it right?

Nick from Dirty Haggard Pedals is gonna increase prices soon and it's easy to see why - these are some of the lowest noise utilitarian pedals out there at a crazy good price (quite a few below $100). He makes a lot of things, but I like his EQs and boosts a lot. They've been super useful when you have things very close but just want the source to be exactly dead on in a mix-context. I just bought a few. www.dirtyhaggard.com/shop

Eric, do you have an opinion on the Orban Optimod 8100a ? You have to understand the Optimod was not designed as a tracking or buss comp, it is very good at its purpose squeezing the single and boosting HF for analog broadcast. Un modded, not a great piece, modded, well Orban was underrated till everyone figured out the EQ’s were great and made cheaper DBX versions, then Harman did what Harman do best, they killed a company.

Ordered a Trident Deca Dent 10 space rack direct from them. On sale for $450, free shipping and no tax. Nice deal I think! I needed something for the CAPI BT50’s I bought last week

Whoops. Bought this Champagne Sparkle Jet. Always wanted one, loved that this one has chrome and not gold hardware. Sounds great too! But I do need to part with a guitar or three to really justify it

And I can’t even play !

I do love me a Gretsch Jet. I would post mine in solidarity but I don’t think I have a pic of it on this phone. Plus it isn’t really new to me at this point but it does have a rather unique top.
Cheers, Geoff

Not new but sort of. Took gwlee7 's advice and took my 40-year-old Jackson Randy Rhoads Custom (#618) and beloved Epiphone Sheraton II to the guys at Murphy's Music in Irving, TX and had the RR tuned up from ages ago when my good friend and RR fan put a block under the Kahler which f-d it up despite good intentions and had the Sheraton completely refretted. Bought the latter in '96 and like many Epiphone's if you get a good one it's golden. Murphy's absolutely killed it and it plays amazing now. Jackson gets a wall mount. So good to have it preserved and plays amazing still.

Excuse me if I repeat anything from before. A mint time capsule Telefunken U47 from ‘56. Retro 2A3 NOS tubes love it. Buzz Audio DBC in black that sounds so great. Stam SA 1178 & the SA609 both are seriously made I love the little twists on the Stam stuff too. Waiting for the new stereo Fultec and the SA800g. Lots of DIY mics I’ll upgrade. Won’t need to upgrade the Vamisound’s though as they come with such quality parts. The Zvukofor Tanhx desktop saturator which will be fun fore mangling and saturation. The Phoenix Audio Ascent 2 which is like Neve up a level. Some more synths and modules. 2 AML 1081 500 series I’m really looking forward to using. An old Selmer bass and guitar amp head. 2 Weight Tank 72’s. The new Earthworks bass drum mic that is stunning compared to anything I’ve ever heard. 2 Periscope mics that will be in the room for anything I ever record now. Changed my Serpent Splice’s for Blueys as they are so much more easy to navigate and sound as good for that Rev A or B sound. Various European tube mic pre amps. I have a shopping list for Beesneez which I’m really excited. I guess that’s most of it I can think of.

Bought a used SH Quad Gama from VK I saw on the verb. I love stuff that isn't being made anymore and bought it for the return from the Little Labs Redeyes for mixing with pedals in a more streamlined way. I think it's going to be the balls. Love the SH stuff I have now.
That and two Burl BAD8's to shift up the hardware inserts. Will not sell the BAD4's I'll pull out in those places though. Again, the not-made stuff means something to me.
