In the process of getting my Hammond C3 fired up I learned about all the things wrong with my Leslie, so I order a new crossover, driver, and bass speaker. Nothing in my Leslie was original, it didn't even the right ohms speakers, so hopefully it'll sound better back to stock spec What bass speaker and treble driver did you go with? What model Leslie is it? It's a 147 that had the amplifier changed to a 122. I went with an Atlas PD-5VH driver and Weber 15F200 bass speaker from Tonewheel General

Chris, your wit is tireless. Please, don't encourage him! True. SO true. Partly as I'm waiting for the new tires to arrive. Here at the Shop. Tucker Tires. (Real place BTW) Near Skid Row. And when you're "Tuckered". You're tired. I'll just give things a rest then. ("Under Pressure" is playing overhead) Eric and AB will have to go on... A Titanic joke rotation now. Chris P.S. Great news on my (theoretically) one day Surgery this Monday... My Surgeon just got REINSTATED!! (All charges dismissed)

Our 2 top local Laguna Beach clubs... Both have mint B3's/Leslie set ups. Steve Wood (co-founder Honk/was Kenny Loggins' Musical Director) Has done B3 Leads/Solos on stuff like "Little Wing" and other Classic Rock tunes. Instead of Lead Guitar (Gasp!) Amazing player/Singer. Chris

By the way, I recieved the Audioscape Opto the other day which must have been sent out lickity-split as I got it like four days shipped from Florida to Switzerland. I love it and couldn't be happier.

I'd love to own a real Hammond. Well first and foremost I'd love to own a studio that could easily accommodate one! I brought the RT3 with me from Phoenix to Tennessee. There was no way I was leaving it there when we moved. Also brought 2 Leslies with it. A 145 and a modified 46W which is the same size as a 147 but less power. I sold the 145 but inherited a 760. Of those remaining Leslies the 760 is louder and sounds better on guitar but the old 46W sounds marvelous on the Hammond. Tube grit for days. Unfortunately I don't have room for both Leslies in my little studio so the 46W lives in the living room and the 760 does double duty. My studio doesn't accommodate one either. I almost had to grease it to get it through the door. I keep it on moving dollies so I can scoot it around if I need to. The bass pedals are out in the shed. No space for them in the studio. The RT3 is the theater version of the C3. It has the full AOR 32 note set of bass pedals unlike the B3 and C3 which have 25. The RT3 is larger than the B3 and C3 due to the extra bass pedals. It also has a larger tone generator to make the additional bass pedal sounds. The RT3 with the bass pedals weighs in at 525 pounds. Quite the behemoth. It has a 32 foot bass stop that will rattle the walls for a block in every direction. Awesome! It will do everything a B3 and C3 or A100 will do and then some. I got a smokin deal on it. I bought it in 2001 for $500 and everything works. I made a space for it in my studio but it really is too big for it. I have had to move it by myself more than once. I have the appropriate set of Roll dollies for it but it's still massive even without the pedals. The pedals probably weigh 80 to 100 pounds all by themselves. It's tight, but I got it in there. In this pic it's a guitar stand and that's what it gets used for most of the time but when I need an organ track there's nothing like it. I figured that if it's good enough for Abbey Road, it's good enough for me. i.postimg.cc/qvM53kzr/Studio-Front-Wall.jpg

Digging it as well, but the software needs some attention. No matter what I boot up on my system first, Nova or Mac Studio, the damn software never can "find" the Nova. I have to restart the app two or three times, then when it finally finds the Nova I have to unmute it, then tap the damn mouse button 60 times to get it to zero. I hope they fix that shit in a future release. Love what it does otherwise. And cool to hear Vance Powell talk about it recently on the Recording Rockstars podcast. There’s an option to boot at the last saved volume! Yes, but if I change that and the auto mute then save, it doesn't save it in the preset. I can change to another preset and come back and it's back to Recall Volume and Auto Mute. It's f-ing annoying as all get out.

Picked up some Audix for the locker, D6-i5-OM2 combo on sale currently for $169 Oh. I didn't realize 'The Audix Club Kit' was an actual kit that comes in a flight case with room for 7 mics, some DIs, a black Audix crew T-shirt, backstage pass lanyard and a coffee cup in the shape of a D6, though it was just a killer price on a D6/i5 combo with an OM2 thrown in, but I'll take it! I got my Audix Club Kit in today. Mine came with a sticker and 2 drum dots instead of a mug. I also received an Eastman E2OM acoustic guitar. I’ve been thinking about an OM-sized acoustic for a while, and read some good things out this model.

Just ordered a pair of Tonelux MP5A mic pres to go with my Equalux EQ.

I bought myself the Korg Triton VST in the Korg sale. I know it's very dated but it was also the dream synth during my formative years, especially for those atmospheric pads.
There are also times as of late where I just want a solid general-midi friendly synth for sketches, and it fits the bill there as well.

Got my second Iron Age LH95 the other day. Such sweet eq's. Used them to "open up" a really nice demo someone sent me to master. It was mixed great, just had that blanket over the speakers thing happening. The LH95's worked perfectly.

Got a Weight Tank WT-COMP during their recent sale peroid. It punches way above it's Weight and I found it immediately useful on vocals and bass. The full attack and release ranges can really tailor mono drums mics well too. The timings and knee are really well-tuned! Nice saturation as well, getting one of these on sale is an excellent deal.

I'll use the shirt and the dots. and of course the mics, but I still find it funny they don't put serial numbers on the D6's yet (the others have laser engraved serial #'s) EDIT: I think there might be a serial number inside (screw off the top grille) but it is a sticker so not as nice as the laser engraved serial. EDIT2: apparently only on older D6. The newer mic has a 2nd foam pop filter over the element and I didn't want to attempt to remove it - thinking it might not go back on easily.
