I use those headphones. They're bright, but have good detail and a good soundstage. We called them headphones for deaf drummers, even Alex Vanhalen could hear the high end with these! Heavily boosted lowend! Noticed the highs seam to truncate the decay. Put the Stax on and back to balance! |

They don't handle continous high level bass well especially kick drum. Eventually they went from bright to broken sounding bright and tinny. Beyer DT770's have a smiley face and are bright but nothing like the 7506's. The are also much more robust than the Sony's were. |

stratboy, nothing really to tell. I purchased some Telefunken body tubes on eBay a while back. I just grabbed the Stellar, ripped off the tube, and slid the Tele body on. Sexified Stellar mic.

Grabbed a Neumann M149, used one recently on a Jerry Douglas record and dug it and think it'll be a good all rounder. Hoping to pick up a Summit TLA-100A today too.

Sometimes the unobtainium is really difficult to sell.... You just have a knack for buying the weirdest stuff! Not that, that's a bad thing! Hell I was trying to convince the family we should drive to Chicago rather than take the train over Springbrake just so I could take a gander ! |

Rewatch 'Planes Trains and Automobiles' and then rethink that Ha last time train stopped in the middle of nowhere for a tornado warning. But I can drink on AMTRAK, sleep, they have bathrooms. Plus if you saw the pictures of the Rally after the Royals won the World Series, that was Union Station, the AMTRAK station, my back yard. 1/3 mile door to door! It was quicker that day to walk home and back than wait in line for the portapotties ! Amtrak for 3 is less than 4 days parking downtown Chicago |
