It is only fitting that the wacky 60's Western Sitcom "F Troop"*... Had the Commander (Ken Berry) win his Cival War Medal of Honor, through "accidental" circumstances! Chris *Of course, I grew up on that kinda thing.

I have a large volume 1/4" 2 track tape transfer job to do over the next couple of months & purchased the Apogee Symphony SE this week when the tapes arrived.

Bought a used Sony C-100. I’ve mostly chased vintage tones, but recently I’ve been interested in more modern, hi-if mics.
Also a EH Operation Overlord Overdrive pedal, thinking I’ll run synths through this.

Let us know what you think of the Sony, enquiring minds want to know, I mean it’s Sony so it probably sounds great and will probably be discontinued because it’s Sony and Pro Audio it’s what they do. I just want to know if and when they do if I need to scoop up a bunch, you know how my Sony habit started😁

I think it’s pretty popular with hip hop producers. Funnily, the artist I most had in mind for this mic just told me she’d like darker, dirtier vocal tones…moving targets as always

C-100 is a nice mic, very detailed and fast...can be a bit "sibilant" at time and is one of the few things I like to pair with our UA 2-610 (along with C451's / C34)...helps mellow out some of the extreme high end detail. I've been thinking about getting a second one to use with our baby grand, which is fairly dark sound.
I racked up a bunch of D'Addario "Player Points" and ordered 5 clip on tuners...all different colors...hopefully they'll be less likely to "walk away" when they are yellow and green.
Might trade an Ampeg amp for a '73 Fender Bronco...big fan of 24" scale guitars. We'll see! Also a power supply rebuild kit for my Arp Solina.

Stam Audio 1073EQ+ MK2 PHOTOA already somewhat crushed mono drum & bass crushed alot more through the unit's line input: ITB -20BTW is it normal for a 1073 preamp to cramp up when recording drums at it's highest gain levels (70-80)? Meaning the signal disappear completely for a second because of overload? I were hoping to be able to crush drums as I track, but it seems that does not work the same as plug-in world? I think I remember other clones doing the same thing, not sure.. While only the pre’s the only time I ever had a problem with the Dan Alexander’s is when I was playing around with different PSU configurations.

Not sure how I’ve gone this long without having one of my own, but grabbed a mint 121 for a great price from a buddy that never used it.

Coil 286s = fun!
Ironically, I did just post it in the classifieds due to some changing circumstances/gear.

JHS Ross Compressor clone, hoping it's somewhere close to the original.

More low end compared to the usual stuff: -Bought a BOSS SP303. Sort of sentimental, a lot of music I love was made on that thing. Just want to see what it's about and if it'll be a solid mix tool. If not, it will go. -Also bought a pair of small modular synths by Bastl - Kastle Drum and Kastle 1.5. I promised myself never to get into Eurorack because I know I won't be able to stop myself but this feels like a fair compromise. I'd probably get a closed system like Buchla, Wiard 300 or Serge or something if I went bigger. Fun! The Bastl stuff is a wild ride. DON'T ever get into Eurorack, but if you do you will have a great time. There are some amazing modules these days. Frap Tools make really high quality, really great sounding modules that are comparable to a Buchla: complex osc, quad pingable filter, dual function generator, random gen, spectral filter, advanced multitrack cv and gate sequencer, and a really nice modular mixer with vca's on everything. You can stay relatively closed with their system and just augment if there's a utility you need. They're also starting to branch into pro audio with a 500 series, compex-style mono vca comp that sounds really nice.

I acquired a pair of Upton C12s in the past few months and never posted about it, really like them so far...but unfortunately some "life issues" came up and I haven't had a chance to really put them through their paces.
This next item isn't high-end, but bought a TASCAM DP-008ex "packet studio" for my kid (elementary school aged) as a self-contained introduction to the recording process. I have been demo'ing it myself - quite a cool little tool! Has 8 tracks (but can only record two at a time), built in SDC mics that actually are decent enough to enjoy what you capture, reverb, panning, etc.
Wish I had one at that age! It's much easier than a DAW, sounds better than a cassette tape.

Picked up a Guild D212 12 string at a good price, although it needs some work. But, cheap enough to justify it. I mean, all 40 year old acoustics need work, right 😆
