Wow, unit7, I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious.

I sold a pair of Chandler Germ comps and a pair of LA3A reissues to finance and make room for an Overstayer MAS and a Chandler RS124. Also modded my Locomotive comp for lower ratio which, for the stuff I'm doing, made it glorious. Love that box! After some rearranging of the racks I just have to share the joy :-) Nice! Where are all the NV73's? :-) In portable racks. My studio only has a small room, so no need for them there

Looking forward to it. They are DB25s if that is what you mean. Remember there are 2 standard Dsub pin outs Tascam/ AVID AND Yamaha! Yamaha always have to do things their own way... different to everybody else. Just to make it more difficult, not better. For example, to the world, C4 is Middle C.... but what does Yamaha call the exact same note? ? C3. I mean, you have only some minor inclination or how badly this pisses me off. I expressly voiced this to one of the senior Yamaha guys at the Marriot last year. Another Yamaha thing... they have to use a hotel separate from the convention center! I digress. Back to your regularly scheduled programming!!

got lucky and scored a great local deal on a stam sa4000. no $100 month long shipping I was actually on the pre-order/deposit list but pulled out last year because I needed the funding elsewhere. gonna patch to the master insert on my x-desk. very excited!

Locomotive 286a preamp and a Retro 176. Surprised I haven't seen more said about the former, but then again it is relatively new to the market.

I currently have the Loco 14B and have a pair of Weight Tanks on order. The 14B looks neat. I probably would have looked into it more seriously if it had more ratio options...seems like a 3-way toggle with a lower ratio option would have made it more flexible. But maybe I'm just judging it against what I think would be better and not on its own merits.

I received these two little guys on Friday. IGS 576. So far only used them to track some acoustic guitars with an A-Designs Pacifica, but they were fun and sounded pretty good.

I just picked up four more NOS Jensen JT-11-BMQ hi-nickel output transformers from eBay. Seller was asking $95 each or best offer so I offered $60 each for four and he accepted. I bought two from the same seller a few months back. These are the same output transformers John Hardy uses. Heavy little suckers!

Just bought an Epiphone electro-acoustic with piezo's, I've done metal for so long I forgot how handy a decent acoustic is for song writing.

Look what showed up today! This thing is like crack cocaine, I can't stop playing it. Well I just did because it's getting later. This is my first Marshall, and my only proper high gain "monster amp" although it's good at medium settings too. Very aggressive and bassy at the same time. I did a little mod on the bright cap C19 on the ultra gain channel, but other than that I have just been trying it at different settings and with different speakers. Still haven't found the perfect cab, but I'm on the lookout. I think this is gonna keep me busy for a while.

Mostly guitar pedals...a Seagull Folk set up for high strings but I was told it needs a neck reset and I can't get it to stay in tune down the neck so it might going out soon. Grab a Silvertone U2 reissue as well also set up for high strings and I like that better.
Otherwise some pedals...Deluxe Memory Man, Diamond Tremolo, Dunlop Cry Baby Classic, Boss RV-5

Hey Ericn if you get a good 548, they are great -I have had an SD ( with the switch) since they first came out and have 2 others which aren't as good. Of course the foam inside the head basket shreds over time but you can fix that. My best one which was as good sounding as they get was stolen along with an sm57 with the proper Shure screw held wind sock as well as my car and a couple of heavy duty Tama chrome mic stands. I miss the 548 and the stands more than the car (the car was insured!) Cheers

Cheers Yeah just plugging it in for a Quick test sort of like if you took what you like in a SM7 and a 57 you would have this mic! Guy on the KC Craigslist thinks he can get $300 a piece, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ! I paid $60 might pay a $100! It might sound like $300 but it's not a $300 mic! I do like having sets of 4-6 of Dynamic Models but I buy I also like to take my time and scoop them up slowly! Sold my Mexican SM57's when I needed a car, not buying any Mexican SM Shures again! Anybody know the AKG built Altec 80B? Got a guy who has a few..
