M7 is so smooooth. IMHO K47 is "more rawk", and cuts through more. I believe Heiserman to be very wise offering the two headbaskets. And my limited understanding is that Ben @ Beesneez's capsule is around mid-way between M7 and K47. (Feel free to correct me if needed!) Too many early rock and roll/Rat Pack records listened to, to ever let go of an M7! Chris I’m gonna get a couple of Poctop heads for K47’s so I can do both. This 48 is a killer.

Fender Vibrolux reissue at a good price. Going to try a couple popular mods to reduce the noise/hiss, but a nice sounding amp otherwise. Haven't had a 2x10" in a long time I LOVED my Vibrolux. Miss it bad. Congrats! I got my fav tone on my Black Falcon by: - Ran a pod bean (yes, long time back) into the vibrolux bright channel
- Set the amp right at breaking and the treble all the way up (ears distorting at this point)
- Put the amp under the floor, in the snake pit and enjoy the foot massage
- Put a studio projects C1 microphone about 12" from grill
Crazy happy accident. the C1 is disposable so who cares... it provides a natural compression while being slammed and it preserved the articulate attack (like a Tele) but rounds the brightness down. You can tell what's happening (single coil spank) but it is warner than expected.

Not the least bit sexy but just orders a second refurbished i5 Panasonic Toughbook to run Soundweb, not because the first is a problem actually pretty solid, it’s just Soundweb and Ethersound really don’t like running on the same machine and it’s really nice having both open at all times live. Yeah I’m an Apple guy but man it might be heavier than my Mac book air or My I7 MBP but man a laptop I don’t worry about, might order a 3rd as the travel computer, The TSA would have to work at killing one of these and last time I traveled with one they assumed I was a cop, because Law enforcement loves their Toughbooks😁

Just ordered a JHS Emperor, because I’ve been listening to Madison Cunningham so much the past week that I want to try one out. I didn’t get her signature version, just a standard v.2.

Snagged Sonnox Drum Gate for $45 from Thomann. Really impressed with it, pretty effortless to get a track cleaned up and you can really change the behavior and sound of the release. Happy with that purchase…a lot of times more tweaky plug ins it’s usually me spending time figuring out what it does, thinking I did something I’m happy with, and then bypassing it and discovering I made things worse

Haven't posted here in a bit, but I recently picked up a UA Dream 65 pedal. It's phenomenal. The reverb is "dreamy", and it goes from clean to mean exactly the way I'd expect a deluxe to. It's also great to be able to jam at night without waking my family, and still feel like I'm playing a real amp.
I also grabbed one of those DBX channel strips. The 286s I think. Not sold on it yet. Thought it would be fun to mess with, especially at the price, but I'm not hearing anything extremely musical out of it, although I can see why it's great for voiceover stuff.

Thought it would be fun to mess with, especially at the price, but I'm not hearing anything extremely musical out of it, although I can see why it's great for voiceover stuff. I picked up Neural DSP’s Plini VST a while back for another take on Fender-esque clean and verb-y tones. It’s a nice ITB alternative to the AmpliTube Fender Collection that I’ve used for the past 3 years. That Dream 65 really sounds divine but $400 is steep for a keyboard player who only dabbles in Guitar 😛 I also picked up Softube’s Model 84 synth in the pre-Black November sale and that one sounds like a winner. I’m really excited to see where this next generation of modeled analog synths goes. Softube in particular is nailing the “life/musical instability” with their Model series, enough so that I’ve put my plans to buy one of the flagship Sequential/DSI synths on hold. I bought Syntronik 2 dirt cheap in the group buy earlier this year, but except for a few synths where they really nailed the raw oscillator sampling (the ARP monos are my favorite) it’s been a letdown.

They're making a "Special Edition" Steve Earle Signature microphone. It's a joint partnership between Rode and T-Funk. Blending this microphone model, with the Rode NT1. Called (what else?)... The Copperhead Rode. Chris

Finished up this little project about 3 weeks ago. The neck is a Warmoth roasted maple with a black double bound nitro finished alder. Rutters bridge with brass compensated saddles and it intonates perfectly. I previously had Fender Nocaster pickups in it. After a 25+ yr hiatus I decided to venture into the EMG world again and replaced those with an EMG T set. Really surprised at the T Set, different than the Nocasters but really nice with great sensitivity. The controls are a little different, volume and tone are on the concentric knobs in front which is actually really convenient as I twiddle all the time. The middle knob is the EMG SPC mid-boost and the rear is their "afterburner" 20db boost with the detents at 8 & 15. Why? Because I can... It's like an old muscle car with an N2O bottle hidden under the dash, gotta be careful stepping on the gas or it'll dump you in the ditch. Roll everything back and it's sparkly clean and gorgeous.
