Did away with analog mixing board & got a new electric desk long enough to have 88 weighted keyboard under View AttachmentI set my gf up the same way. The motorized desk can sit at just the right height to have the keys at a comfortable height and have the desk come over the top. Pretty cool way to get a full size keyboard workstation for a fraction of the cost.

A buddy mine gave me a great price on the Avid Thunderbolt dock for a HDX card
…it’ll to motivate me to throw down on HDX sooner than later 😂
Oh, and Baby Audio Taip at a pretty price. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Definitely not subtle
AND I ordered (4) CAPI CA-0252 op amp kits for my Auditronics console. The wonderfully talented Bob Joneson made a drop in replacement for the original line amp cards that replicate the API 325, so I'm going to give those a try to A/B with the stock cards and my Jim Williams modified cards.

-New Redco patchbay. My god, spending money on cabling and interconnects is one of the worst parts of this pursuit. But hey, now I need more gear to fill up those extra patch points, hahaha. -Bought Kiive's Xtressor. I've never been a big fan of Distressors so was never gonna spend 1000+ on one, but I recognize their utility and snappiness so I am grateful to get this one for $65. It does everything you need a Distressor to do. They also have a free plugin with the Nuke mode, in case you want to give it a try. -Finally got some of the Audio Damage plugins. Absolutely love their new delay Other Desert Cities - it's so well-laid out with a lot of creative possibilities. I view it as a writing tool rather than a mix tool, but this is the sort of plugin that checks all boxes for me: really good sound, excellent visual design/feedback, looks very cool and the developer is high integrity (as far as I know). I also picked up the Rat Shack reverb - love it for flamming stuff and pseudo-Haas effect spreading of a signal. And the microphone input does something cool. Also got the Phosphor and Quanta synths - I'm not a big VST or big synth guy but I liked these two a lot. I also picked up their Panstation because I really miss the Ableton Auto Pan when I'm in Pro Tools and this is the only one I found to be as versatile. Man I’m such a geek, I enjoy cabling, the smell of solder, and all those cable ties. I mean my wife’s Grand father was the foreman / QC guy for all the large RG stuff US cable made for communications in WWII, his kids thought it was boring I found it fascinating.

Just picked up a Zeiss Classic 85mm f/1.4 ZE. It arrived today from a seller I’ve bought from before in Hong Kong. I took it for a spin at the park while my son was on the swing set, and man, I *really* like this lens. Whew, is it good.

You know, I had never even heard of the Beastgrip until you just mentioned it, Bat, so no, I've never used it. Looks really interesting, though. In addition to my C70, I do have a couple of smaller Canon mirrorless cameras that I use if I really need to get into a small space kind of situation. I can't personally imagine using a phone instead of those at this point, though we'll probably get there as an industry sooner or later. As with audio, it's the workflow that matters nearly as much as the technology capturing the images sometimes.

Lollar neck pickup and a Gotoh trem for my MIJ strat. I think I’m leveraging myself into refretting and pleking it. Still leveraging up on this guitar, grabbed a Fralin for the bridge as well as a new electronics assembly.

Think it's the best on the market & reasonably priced (Jarvis Laminate Standing desk by Fully).

Ooo . . . Pictures and deets please! I have a microphone obsession. Whoa, take 'er easy there Pilgrim. 'round these parts, we prefer the term "healthy curiosity". Especially when a shootout, may be a brewin'. Chris And a U48 😛 Just wondering whether to replace the M7’s with k49’s. I’m wondering if I like the variety. My new pair of M49V sound awesome. The E22’s are little magic sticks. The new Bettermaker EQ for drum buss.

M7 is so smooooth. IMHO K47 is "more rawk", and cuts through more. I believe Heiserman to be very wise offering the two headbaskets. And my limited understanding is that Ben @ Beesneez's capsule is around mid-way between M7 and K47. (Feel free to correct me if needed!) Too many early rock and roll/Rat Pack records listened to, to ever let go of an M7! Chris

Chris - I have a beesneez M7 in an mk47 and it definitely leans more towards the M7 smooth side of things in that particular mic.

Chris - I have a beesneez M7 in an mk47 and it definitely leans more towards the M7 smooth side of things in that particular mic. Thanks! Guess that's why in one of the blind tests Paul G has done... It was my fave capsule. I tried recently to sound more like Levi Stubbs/Four Tops "Declamatory" style singing in practice. But Issac Hayes/Johnny Bristol/Tyrone Davis Crooner style is much more my specific Soul gravity! So M7-ish for me. (Including M49*) Another factor IMHO is Arrangement. With a Nelson Riddle Arrangement, you didn't have to worry as much regarding Orchestral "competition", against the vocal(s). Chris *Thee mic on most all Johnny Mathis' hits.
