Thanks jcoutu1 for recommending the adapter kit plus enclosure. Was able to grab that plus a new set of husky 00/ 0 Phillips and flat plus t6 torx for the mbp, all in a convenient 5 piece package... looking forward to not stripping my mbp screws and finally getting ready for 64 bit.... Ok so I have 12.4 and El Capitan and upgraded plugs and Daw on one of my OWC drives I was testing for stability ... I also have sample libraries and lots of PT sessions... I want to clone my Mac hd ( OS X Lion ) to Samsung 850 evo then upgrade to el cap from the OWC ( hoping this will save some upgrade time on plugs ? ) or Sierra new install. Idk if I would have to then do more upgrade Daw and plugin wise for Sierra... So I may just go to Sierra, this stuff shouldn't be this complicated lol... hoping ilok and I are on the same team tonight 🤣🤠 If you're wiping the old drive (or clean installing), you should check to see if there's any software you need to de-authorize first. I had an issue a while back where I lost some iLok protected authorizations and a few other things, so FYI. BTW, my 840 EVO in the retail packaging came with one of those cables, FWIW. Good luck!

Just starting a small studio build in January and I am getting my gear collection together. I toyed with the idea of an analog console (was looking at the Audient 4816 or the SSL XL-Desk) but in the end I chickened out and went for good front end and summing. This will be me moving from home set up to semi-commercial in a small industrial space Stereo Pair of Distressors - got a good deal second hand. A second Apollo 8 - to cash in on the free Satellite deal. 2 x Rupert Neve 5024 Preamps - 8 channels of Neve! Rupert Neve 5060 Centerpiece - ex-demo from a store. More on the way ...

Clarett 8PreX is in the house! Haven't even tracked with it but the conversion from the DAC is just beautiful. Also running Thunderbolt on my Windows 10 PC, very nice.

So seeing that you are going to miss me as run around NAMM & the cosmetic differences are going to bug you to no end, I know you are going to order a 3rd. Then you will send me the red headed stepchild as late Christmas gift!

Get well quick!! If you're not sick, going to NAMM is almost a guarantee that you will be sick within the week. If at all possible, I try to avoid it like the plague. Or flu.... Don't have to be there this year. LTL is not exhibiting, but keep your eyes peeled......

Yeah been on the up swing but all I need is a round trip airplane ride and to spend time with a bunch of others who just got off a plane!

I finally got paid for a project I completed a while ago, and I am on the search for a mic for my wife. She finally decided that she was ready to record an album. I am also trying to step up my front end.

mulmany. That is absolutely FANTASTIC!! Good on ya, man. Good luck to the missus. Thanks Ward, I have been trying for ten years. We have only recorded 2 songs in that time. One of her friends called her out, and said she was stupid for not utilizing my studio. So we bought a new keyboard, so she can play at night without waking the kids. So I am setting up a writing/recording station for her.

Doing a record with your wife?!?!?!? LOL Good luck my friend. If I did that it would end in divorce I'm afraid. Even after being married for as long as we have..... At very best it would be a marital standoff... I'd pay big $$$ to have someone ELSE do it. LOL Best of luck to ya!!! I mean it. <thumbsup>

Mojave MA300 on sale at Sweetwater 1095; all settings flat; in my home studio thru a WA Tonebeast, vocals jumped right out, sat good in the mix Mic. But at RainShawdow Studios, Port Townswnd WA, did a shoot out with Neumann U67, Acoustic Guitar and Vocal; Cardioid pattern, no eq; MA300 had some proximity effect , little muddy, but still captured the vocal & guitar well. The 67 came out on top with clear highs, but captured bottom end well. In Omni both Mics were very similar, 67 still seemed to have a slight edge, but minimal. But price comparison, MA300 well worth it, MA300 $1295, U67 from $2,000. to 10,000 depending on Year.
Also bought the stereo pair of Lauten Sudio LA120 Black series 349.00, great on acoustic guitar, crisp without harshness. Will have a shoot out with the Neumann K184 later this week now waiting for WA87 and WA EQP Tube EQ

The Samar upgraded Vin-jets and the GZ251 came in today! Man those Samar motors are amazing, even with a bass player playing ac guitar!
GZ251 sounded great too, nice lift up top without sounding fizzy or harsh.
