DONE!! Just bring your gear with you!! You will move in with jr mid August. Plenty of land, and views. Hope you like pit bulls. Hey there is an Amstaff named Mickey laying at my feet! I mean I’m the guy who walks around with a bag of treats ! People forget Pitbulls were once called the nanny dog because before people were teaching them to kill they were the best babysitter that would work for food. Did I ever tell you the Story of the guy down the street in Galveston who was the worst fighting dog trainer ever? After he got busted for his terrible counterfeit $100’s another neighbor adopted Bruce one of his attempts at a fighting dog. Bruce would sit on my lap and let a 3 year old take a bone out of his mouth. He made my Golden at the time look evil ( well he was a puppy mill rescue and if pack was threatened he probably would have killed). Bruce was the perfect dog to walk at 3am, nobody who saw him would mess with him yet unless you attacked you were probably going to get a face full of kisses. Haha!! Yeah, pits are a great breed. Fantastic dogs. We will miss her when she goes with jr to the new place. Jr? Not so much......

East West is having a sale, so I finally caved and picked up Symphonic Choirs. Why the hell didn't I grab this before?! Yes, it's going to take a little time to program, but man is this going to add that big choir feel to my Christmas Album. Add a couple of my talented friends as ringers for each section and this is going to sound nuts. "Joy to the World" indeed! www.soundsonline.com/symphonic-choirsQuick note: Word builder is a PITA. This is going to take a little work. The biggest thing is how little consonant sound they give you from the start. While everything can be adjusted, I wish I could set the amount of consonants on the attack and end of words from the get go, instead of tweaking each word. Some of the diphthongs are a little hard to maneuver properly too. As a singer I'd love to chat with someone at East West about how this could be improved out of the gate. More to come as I delve further in.

Got Sound ID Reference/Headphones. So many of the people here who’s mixes I really like use it or its Sonarworks predecessor that I figured it would be a good purchase.

Warm WA-47 Jr. on sale for $199 + Tax, at some dealers. So... Ordered and expect receipt, within a week. Partly to test on VO. (Including on Figure 8) Chris Looking forward to your thoughts on this mic - helped on a track that the vocals were recorded with one of those 47 Jr.'s - it could have been whatever EQ was printed. Thanks! I've been recently experimenting with trying to match a microphone's own inherent tonality, by adjusting my own vocal tone. Well we do know it's the same K47 capsule, as in their WA-47. So that's a good start. Chris

I've got 12 - 51X Racks and I like to take advantage of the +24 voltage. Just got 12 - Flinkenger Op-Amps. These have the best specks at +24 volts. I Plan on building a rack of Capi 51X VP312 DIs with custom Cinemag transformers running at +24 volts. In the mean time I'll trying these in various modules.

As long as your meters are pinned +16 into the red zone and not moving except when the music stops you'll be in good stead. <<thumbsup>>

Plugin Alliance has a stupidly good sale going on right now. Here's the coupon, you can use it today, and again tomorrow, no minimum spend: MEGA-SALE-20OFF
I got Elysia Mpressor for $9, I'm mpressed with the price, since I have the UAD version of this, and this one has the sidechain the UAD will never have.
You could get some free ones if you don't want to spend any money at all. Or SSL 9000 J for $50, Ampeg fliptop for $20, etc.

I got two new gimbals maybe three months ago: the DJI RS2 and the RSC2. I’m primarily using the RS2, and it’s fantastic. Very smooth. I used it on two film shoots over the weekend that we were doing up in NYC, and I’m thrilled with the results.
Just prior to this trip, I got a Canon R5 for Katrina to try out for a month. She used it for both stills and video on the NYC shoots. Haven’t had time to examine the video she captured yet, but the stills look excellent. She’s very, very pleased. A near-instant bond for her.
I also got a Beyerdynamic M88 for the trip. I was planning for some VO for one of the films, and wanted to try the M88. Didn’t end up doing the VO, so haven’t heard the mic yet.
Oh, also used the RØDE Wireless Go II system for the first time on one of the shoots, which included a longform interview. I’ve used the original Wireless Go quite a lot, and have had mixed results. I’m hoping the new version II has solved a couple of the issues. I’ll know in a few days as I cull the footage and audio captures.

NYC is a very mean place to test a budget Wireless ! ”If it can make it there, it can make it anywhere.” That interview shoot was about 20-30 mins north of Manhattan, so not quite as crazy. But still heavy RF traffic. I think the WGII worked well. The ability to record internally in addition to broadcasting the signal is the killer feature.
