My vl37s are on rycote. INV-7s. Not a perfect fit, but it works. It is on a very sturdy boom stand with the larger K&M bar. I would contact Mark at Samar, he may have a better option now. I might do that myself and report back.

I've got a pair of their inv-7 hg mkiii incoming, I'll report back. I also placed an order with Mark for another VL37A to make it a pair. I talked to him as well and he was really helpful.

I'm assuming the VL37A is 33-34mm like the MF-65, if so the inv-7 hg mkiii will be pretty tight, those things are gripper beasts, tight on 25mm mics. I'd consider USM or USM-L, and the studio kit version with the pop screen.

The inv-7 hg mkiii says it's supposed to be designed for up to 34mm. I do remember reading somewhere that someone was using them successfully with the mic. I should have a USM-L with the pop filter in shortly, I'll try it with the Samar too. I want something stable and secure but still fairly low profile.

My latest totally sucks, literally it sucks, I replaced my cheap no name desoldering gun with a Hakko. Essential gear right there. Last weekend I finished repairs on a friend's Sequential Pro One that was completely fried. Every chip and many other parts were toast. Wouldn't have even tried do it without the Hakko.
Keep the tube clean and get a few different size tips, makes life so much better.

Yeah thanks Grant, honestly I probably don’t do enough to justify it but besides looking cool next to the 808, the fact that I can travel a whole 33 blocks and pick up supplies is just wow. We in KC are so spoiled by having Electronics Supply Company.

I just bought Sonnox Oxford Drum Gate from Sweetwater. The price is incredibly good. I've been using various gates to clean up tom tracks. I used to cut them manually but was not always happy with the results. Recently, I was using a free two band gate called Cymbal Killer. It's pretty much perfect except it has some serious bugs in Nuendo when exporting. So, I had demoed the Oxford Drum Gate and thought it was great but way too expensive. This price made it worthwhile. Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been waiting to grab this one on sale. Just picked it up👍🏻

Okay there's more:
I didn't give up with the Sontronics Mercury, I'll go into a full review at some point but that is one well built microphone sheesh. Need to really delve into the sound of it when I receive my replacement.
Picked up another Neve Shelford Channel w/ another Stam SA-2A, the Stam is actually mine but I sold it to a friend and just recently bought it back. I've been interacting with Shelfords for years now, they're not exactly what one would call neutral. Every mic that passes through my chain sounds like the Shelford but that's not a bad thing because they sound great, I was looking to get a different flavour but why bother when you have something that just works?
The VAD-306 is finally on its way with some upgraded cymbals, an almost splash sized ride just won't cut it.
Finally and most importantly I've got a new room, I started recording again (after a decade hiatus may I say) and just as things were getting going I moved, all my money got sunk into the house and between a none existent work / life balance I can't say much music is getting done (I don't often spend much because simply put I never have any time). Won't deny it though, the expense does feel a bit unjustified and frivolous because I'm probably completely useless and lacking talent in all regards at this point, but still music is a passion and it's not like I'm doing it for record sales in this day.
Finally I bought some new cables, mine have been in a snake pile box for the last 2 and a half years which does them no good really.. On a brighter note at least all of my old equipment still works, one of my Stam's is a little loose but ahh well.

I have the inv-7 hg mkiii arriving tomorrow (Friday). I will be comparing it to the regular inv-7. Even if the mkiii is tight, I might just figure out how to store it with it on, so I do not have to go through the maneuver ever time I want to use it.

Brad twisted my arm into buying one several years ago, and told me I'd curse the day for not buying one earlier. He was right. One of the best things I've ever purchased. I should have bought one decades ago. Latest victory - getting some pesky caps out of a 4 layer PCB that didn't want to come out. Easy peasy.....

I've got 3 boxes of Knauf rigid insulation sitting in my living room. Not gear, but finally doing to booth right is going to be amazing.
