Ludwig Acrolite for some additional studio snare flavor. Nice! Is it new?? I just got one as well, pawn shop special. Looks to be a late 70s one, great condition. I love the sound of it!

Silver Bullet finally arrived. Now to unbox it and get it in the chain. I am trying to arrange it so that all my 2 buss gear is located as close as possible. I use an allen and heath GS3000 for the mix out of the box.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Samar VL37A. I was looking for a VL37 initially but couldn't find anyone who had one in stock or who could give a delivery timeline. I do quite a bit of acoustic and quieter stuff so the active version should be a little better suited. Should arrive next week with some coffee. I also picked up a copy of Studio One to checkout in my continuing Pro Tools exit efforts.

I have been to Mark's shop. Enjoy!!!!

I just bought Sonnox Oxford Drum Gate from Sweetwater. The price is incredibly good. I've been using various gates to clean up tom tracks. I used to cut them manually but was not always happy with the results. Recently, I was using a free two band gate called Cymbal Killer. It's pretty much perfect except it has some serious bugs in Nuendo when exporting. So, I had demoed the Oxford Drum Gate and thought it was great but way too expensive. This price made it worthwhile.

Ward, What are you using as shock mounts for the VL37A's? markfouxman included mic clips that had oval shocks in them and they work fantastic. The included clips work but the mic has a little wobble in it. I am looking at Rycote but not sure which one. I have a pair of the INV-6 and INV-7 and the VL37A will barely squish into the mounts but the lyres are too flexible to hold it straight. In the meantime I have been looking for a second to make a pair but they appear to be backordered. Wonder if it might be best to order direct from markfouxman on the website...
