Getting back into the Oktava MK-012s with a matched pair. I'll end up modding them slightly for a little darker sound I think.

My Heiserman H47t has been shipped. Now for the waiting. Which capsule did you opt for? Just the standard k47. Going to test it out against Chad’s SAE 47 but i have a feeling that i will be keeping both of them even though that was not the plan i told the wife.

Although I've been telling myself that I really don't need anything new until I actually move the gear from the bedroom to my (still to be built) project studio - I got this damn email from Audioscape today so I had to see what was in stock - luckily everything was sold out except the 500 series gear (already have a pair) and the d-compressor - oh wait, I don't have that one yet - and before I could stop myself (I mean, I really, really tried to stop myself - not)- my finger hit purchase. So now I'll need to rearrange the rack once again or bite the bullet and just get a dedicated rack for just the Audioscape gear.
Hi - I'm Bill (audience replies: Hi Bill) and I'm an Audioscape addict (pretty sure i'll see ward there somewhere)
One good thing - if I ever decide to do more than my own home recording and open the studio to outsiders - I have the name all picked out - ASAF Studios !!

I’m very likely buying Chads u48 in the somewhat near future.

I figured to add a pic to show the new member of the family. Welcome Mr. KK85, somehow you complete us.

Continuing my no prisoners EQ rampage with a purchase of Softube Weiss EQ MP. Which is on sale for $109 for a few more hours with email coupon code.
I would describe the sound as "neutral." This is one of the most neutral things I have ever heard. You can boost the high end to ludicrous amounts and it still holds together.
No image shifts, no sparkle or fatness, big vibes, etc, it's just a pure tone changer. Pretty interesting.
Maybe the best part about this version is you can get really precise and surgical with it for fixing, although it's only 7 bands and only one mode (no dynamic, no linear phase, etc.)
Too early to have a broad opinion on it but I liked it enough in my testing to buy it.

Nice! I demoed it and the GUI was a little too heavy on my CPU for my liking. It's one of those plugs I have to try again when I get a better computer.

I gone done dinnit. Got the iZotope Production Suite, like a madman. I have already installed the true peak limiter in my template, as well as the Insight meter (why not), and used RX8 to de-clip a badly recorded guitar. Just didn't have any things that could do those things until today. I know that's just scratching the surface but I've only had them since this morning, and I haven't really been recording today. Also got a couple decent drum reverb sounds in Neoverb, using wiz 's latest Superior Drummer patch. And some transient and "tape" from Neutron. More and more pleased with the Weiss EQ purchase, detail for days. Realism and all of that. My VST folder is outrageous at the moment, truly indulgent.

I have the Weiss Comp/Lim/Deesser package and I dig it. A lot. I just can't bring myself to buy the software EQ for just south of $400. (Says the guy who has numerous pieces of hardware costing thousands)... Maybe I should revisit that...

I am an "EQ obsessed aficionado/junkie/zealot" so it's a little different for me. Digital EQ in particular is something I am passionate about. I have the EQ-MP for $109 but the upgrade to EQ1 would end up being about $400 like you said. Just got the demo code for Massenburg MDWEQ6 so I'm excited to try that one out tomorrow! That one is "only" $199. Cheaper than the SSL Native or the Sony Oxford in fact.

The Ozone EQ'S are alright, too. I wrote Softube after their last pitch on the EQ and told them I thought the DS1 MK3 was a much better value. I think I got it for around $300 with all its nice amenities and functions. I further said, I'd love to have the EQ, but at a better sale price. I could be waiting a while. That Massenberg sounds nice. Do let us know how you take to it.

Monkey, you log into your Focusrite account for the Tracktion RetroMod 106 yet? Got the LoFreq Wired in a give-away last month, fun stuff. Yeah, I deleted it. Too buggy on my end to use. Decent sound but I can't tolerate software with bugs, with as much as I have. I'll use the Cherry Audio DCO-106 as my main and possibly some other sample based junos like the IK Syntronik one from time to time. Cleaned up my VST instrument folder last night. Anything I have a better version of got deleted as well as anything that's just sort of inadequate for any reason, like a lot of the freebie ones I didn't really need. I'll just use Massive or something, you know, it's right there and has 54,000 presets installed. I have gotten some good use out of the Klevr DAW Cassette they recently gave too. It can make your audio really gross and unpleasant, just like a real tape, lol! I combine it with Sketch Cassette 2 for extra dyspepsia, they are complimentary. That Cherry Audio one kind of stole the show on a recent track I'm working on, just perfect for what I was trying to do.

I like the Syntronik Juno so maybe not worth the 3 gig download...

H47t - Well that did not take long. Like the pelican case. The shock mount is nice. The head-basket fits the body nice. Would love to test the Mic out but not sure yet if its configured for 240 volts. Dont want to blow it up on the first go. Wow mine is serial numbered under 100. I thought a lot more of these were in circculation but looks like I might be part of an elite club (self proclaimed elite club). Thanks Heiserman Audio, cant wait to use it. 1.5 by BEANAT19, on Flickr

Nice seawell! Look forward to that. I had to back burner my LH95 purchases when a pristine pair of 2055's popped up FS. Been looking for those for 5 years or so. The LH95's will be coming at some point this year though.....
