Just ordered an Antelope converter. My first bit of studio kit in many years. Now I have to see if I can get my computer sorted. If not gonna need a new one of those too.
But this means I’m probably not going to 500 series like I was hoping to. Hoping a couple things that are in the pipeline also come out as rack units. And specifically the Audioscape 3A and dogears Siemens eq. Time will tell I guess.
Cheers, Geoff

Just picked up a used (but almost mint) USA made Shure 545 to add to the growing collection of old dynamic mics. There's a recent thread on RGO debating the merits of eBay etc. and I agree that there are other ways to find used gear without paying multiple fees. However, it still pays to keep an eye on eBay because sometimes you actually "win." I won this auction for $61 plus tax and shipping.

I bought a cheap TV to use as a second monitor for my recording computer.

Bought some more EZdrummer 2 expansions and some more drum midi files. Bored, stuck at home and so far counting the new TV mentioned up there I am only at about $400 spent since the social distancing, not allowed to teach at school thing started. The bad news is that this averages out to a hundred dollars a day. Depending on how long we are cooped up, that might not be sustainable. 😅

That Chad guy is sure a nice chap. I bought this passive Re-amp box directly from him and was so impressed that I had to take a picture of it for you guys. It has a fairly hefty transformer in it that it is able to produce around 10db of extra gain to drive that signal just a little harder. Everyone seems to want it harder today. The metal casing is much thicker then I was expecting and being passive its super quiet. So everything screams quality at you. Talk to Chad if this piece peaks your interest as he only makes them in small batches at a time. Cheers 3 - Red by BEANAT19, on Flickr

Figured I would be done plug-in binging after the $29 Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor and Maag Magnum-K but Pluginboutique got me today with the $9 Exponential PhoenixVerb Stereo deal. yep that's a killer reverb! great deal, I paid a lot more when I got the whole Exponential bundle And it just cost me a bit more.. bought the crossgrade to the Tonal Balance Bundle today for $177 at AudioDeluxe, interested in checking out the Ozone / Neutron / Tonal Balance integration. Also went back to Plugin Alliance for the $15 SPL IRON deal.

I'm not sold on Ozone or Neutron but I know they have their fans. All of the Exponential reverbs are wonderful. RX is essential when you need to de-noise something, I only have the basic elements version. Iron is great! that's a heck of a deal

How would a person get ahold of this "Chad" you speak of? What did the cost look like for that bad boy? Great photo, by the way!

Signal art electronics - chad kelly . He really knows his stuff. www.signalartelectronics.com/product-page/signal-art-reampDisclaimer: i am a Chad Kelly - Signal Art Electronics fan. I like his stuff and have bought a few items over the last few years. And I once got a discount of $20 off freight. Australia is a long way away so i am told. Other then that, no other discounts or freebies. But I am always open to that if you are reading this Chad. Wink wink nudge nudge.

Chad posts on RGO sometimes too. One time we got moderated for going on for too long about goofy outsider music like wrestling rappers and stuff, LOL. I've been looking at that reamp also.

First version. Some of the lights don’t turn on in Pro Tools, but all the functions work (at least the ones I use). I really just wanted something to do rides, so as long as those features work, I’m good!

I have snagged a few items as of late for the upcoming possible forced vacation due to Virus scenario. Looking forward to spending some quality time with these pieces. Vcomp and Chandler TG mic. I was quite surprised by the TG mic. The different settings are not subtle. In love with setting 4 on either A or B setting. I wonder who makes this capsule? Though I am not sure what the point of the Red LED light is coming up form the Capsule - a bit corny.

The KK84 cap I ordered from Sennheiser is hung up in Europe. Not sure how long that is going to take to get to the US. Regardless, this mic sounds wonderful - not really missing any low end (though I do have the low on +4 on the Coil CA70), working on some demos this early morning and it's really nice paired with the AEA44. The 44 has an amazing off axis sound that really complements the KM85. Stager stereo in the room...whoosh...bonerifific!

Been using this time to go through and fix all the little things that needed attention. Got a Gotham cable for my IOAudio 67 so I don't have to share the one from one of my Barbaric mics as well as scored a great deal on some more used Vovox cable, 7' mic cable and a 30' instrument cable which is nice as I can cut it up and do my pedal board as well.

From the 10+ people who bought them i had no one say they had problems with the low end of these. Everyone was extremely happy with them and a few came back and bought some more. Yep also a Stager mic fan here. I need to get that SR1A out more as my pair of sr2n’ seem to be the first i reach for. Hope your keeping well in this crazy environment and thanks for the feedback.

When I found out today that Dallas-Fort Worth is getting ready to go on lockdown for all non-essential businesses, I made a beeline to my favorite local guitar shop. I was goona snag an Iridium and a J. Rockett Dude (Dumble type) pedal but they were sold out of both. So, all I got was a small pack of Dunlop ultex .73 mm picks. On the plus side, I saved myself $5 hundred or so.
I will post the the impulse buy I am trying yo avoid in the proper place.

There is always mail order, in these days. Yes there is but I use mail order for stuff I cannot get from them. You know like Gefell mics that pop up on ebay unexpectedly. They will have both in there again soon enough.

Just got a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen interface used, so now I can have all three amps micd up, my Ensoniq ESQM running in stereo, and my Eleven Rack going through SPDIF.
May pull the trigger on one of Julius Music's reactive load boxes that he sells on Reverb - significantly less than the Suhr or Two Notes One. I have a studio at home (not a home studio per se) so being able to record amps with any kind of volume is difficult, especially with everyone home... will report back.

There is always mail order, in these days. As long as you order from some place that isn’t located some place under lockdown. For instance I’m betting a bunch of people who ordered from GC/ MF are pissed because nothing in the KC warehouse is shipping!

For instance I’m betting a bunch of people who ordered from GC/ MF are pissed because nothing in the KC warehouse is shipping! I just ordered some christmas spoons from china on ebay for about 2 bucks... I am really wondering if they're going to show up or not, and how long. My local USPS people told me mail is moving the same as usual for them, even a little more than usual in fact. I guess if a warehouse is closed though that's a no like you said. I haven't talked to sweetwater yet but I was looking at some items.
