Looks like sweetwater is shipping more slowly now, and their phone staff are all working from home.
Thinking this is a good time to spend less money for a bit, and take care of other business.

To like or not like this post. On the one hand, spending money is fun. On the other hand, spending money and then the gear not coming for immediate gratification is not. Conundrums abound.

Would be a great time to buy some plugins if you're into that! I was thinking about Amplitube 4 MAX and maybe some more $20 PSP's.

Dunno which type of cutter you got but it it's the typical side cutter your next tool purchase should be an equally small end cutter. You won't believe how handy those things can be. Make great nail clippers as well... ; )

Nice tip, I just ordered one. One of my most used tools, should be better for tight spots I hope than my regular dykes. Presonus DP88 - wow, better conversion than my silver Apollo. Spectacular piece of gear, great price. My new workhorse. Now I just want a Studio 192. Axon 2.2 uF capacitor - extened the low end on my "251" very nicely from the 1.5 uF. MXL R80 ribbon - killer on drums, good on guitar and bass. A reall all-arounder. Paid $50 new on April Fools sale from GC. Focusrite 18i8 - this will be my traveling/mobile interface along with my Tascam UH-7000. Really good low end interface. Fretwork on my Guild Starfire II and P bass - priceless. Taylor 114e - cherry picked from four they had at GC. My new go-to guitar. Mind blowingly good. 'Super White' Auto Wah DIY plus my own mods - my new favorite filter for guitar, love it. right onto the pedalboard. Windows 10 for my DAW - Free. The only Windows OS I want to use any more. Fabfilter Pro-L - Free from gearslutz!! My go-to master limiter You have a Starfire II? I used to have one - which pickups do you have? Mine had the white single coils, which I really didn't like much, although I loved everything else about the guitar. Was a long time ago - college days....

Nice on bass for sure, but also pretty decent on anything where you want that sort of thick VCA sound. I don't know how to describe it, but I wish I had two instead of just the one. The blue ones don't sound the same, I would stick to the grey or dark grey ones. Cool --- I've got a lot of VCA compressors, but I'm hoping this will be different enough to be useful..... from what I've read, it should be! If the "vca" you're talking about is what I'm thinking of it's not really a "vca" in the conventional sense, it's what Valley People/Allison research called a "Transamp" (for Trans conductance Amplifier). It works on a different principle than conventinal vcas and sounds a lot better. I remember an exchange of letters in the old REP magazine between Paul Buff and the head design engineers from dbx and Aphex about the topology of gain control modules in which he definitively demonstrated the superiority of the Transamp. It's a module about the same size as a API opamp, and had a number of applications. When I was at FM our new custom made monitor console (named "Chester" after the designer, John Chester of Chaos Audio) used Transamps for the front end of the mic pres.

Just ordered an Antelope converter. My first bit of studio kit in many years. Now I have to see if I can get my computer sorted. If not gonna need a new one of those too. But this means I’m probably not going to 500 series like I was hoping to. Hoping a couple things that are in the pipeline also come out as rack units. And specifically the Audioscape 3A and dogears Siemens eq. Time will tell I guess. Cheers, Geoff READ THE MANUAL before installing. Nearly all the complaints about Antelope stuff is from guys who thought they don't need manuals. Follow the instruction and you're golden, if you don't there's a 50% chance you'll need customer support to straighten things out.

Mine had the white single coils, which I really didn't like much, although I loved everything else about the guitar. Was a long time ago - college days.... Yeah it's an old one. Was BUTCHERED when I got it. Took years, slowly learning how to fix everything, to get it right. But it has always been a "special" guitar that I have written some of my best songs on. When I got it, there was a Bill Lawrence XL500 in the bridge and an old Dimarzio in the neck... if you can believe that. It sort of gave me my first real taste of a powerful humbucker. These days I stock it with Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups from Gibson, which are "just about right" in this instrument. I love dimarzios in other guitars now. I'd like to buy another Ibanez RGA to fit with a Bill Lawrence 500XL. It's possibly my next move, with electrics, but I'm not 100% sure. I already picked one out, blue top. The RGAIX6FM I have is one of my favorite guitars, with Dimarzios. Love those things. Glad to hear you've been wolfboxed while boxed in!

I finally pulled the trigger on Louder than liftoff Chroma+ with the Pentode tube color cards. This was after eying the Silver bullet since the first posts of the old GS thread and Chroma+ since that was announced last autumn.
I will finally go hybrid instead of ITB and use it on 2bus. Hopefully the Stam SA-4000 with sowter transformers will arrive later this spring, and then I’ve got a nice 2bus setup with two different EQ options, three different transformer options, some tube warmth to taste and a nice bus compressor.

Man, I love that 'ol funky Soul Stuff. Thanks for posting that! Gonna "Shake A Tail Feather" when things ease up. Makes me miss the old days of a couple of months ago-on back, when I got to "make a Fool" of myself (dancing onstage/singing BGV's)... With my Buddy, Francois and his Soul Band. Songs like JB's "Sex Machine" (I was the Bobby Byrd part) and KC's "Shake Your Booty" were stone cold Floor Fillers! Chris

A pair of old horrortones and have added an Altec 1566a preamp to the set up. How are you liking the 1566? I just snagged one on eBay today.

Snagged one of Dan's Wolfboxes. I love it! Also got some new tubes for the Sta Level and a Telefunken clip on pop shield. This self isolation has me repairing or taking care of all the little things I've been meaning to get to for ages.

I bought Nugen's Monofilter and SigMod plug-ins on Saturday, mainly to play around with some crossover-based mults. Then this morning Waves sent me a license for MultiMod Rack, a crossover-based distortion rack.. odd.

Just snagged another BAE Dual 312a, so now I have 4 channels for drums! The di is great on bass too! Had to sell my 8 channels of DAV to get them, but I'd rather have 4 channels I love as opposed to 8 I was just so-so about.

It's pretty minimal but I finally got a real orchestral style music stand to hold my setlists and notes during rehearsal. Been putting it off for years putting up with one of those flimsy folding stands.....
