Congrats! I love mine. Works for everything. It is just such a solid sound. Yeah I'm eager to take it for a spin. The Eq 2NV is flat out amazing as well. GR = bye bye tax returns. haha

I just bought a second Comp-3a, a second Great River Harrison 32c, a second CL 7720 with the ZenPro mods (thanks RicFoxx!), an Orban 622b and the cleanest vintage 441 I've ever seen. Ha! I do the same thing. Since the plexiglass mount broke on my old 441, I use a Blackfire mic clip for it also.

This is actually the newer Sennheiser clip made for the 441. It's great. I bought one for the other 441 I had too.

Well, I haven't recorded in quite a long while... So, most of my newest additions are guitar gear. After going through D. Allen Echoes and Johnny Blades, Lollar P-90's, and a set of Custom-Ordered Vintage Vibe PAF humbuckers in P-90 mounts (I literally bought these HP-90's like a week ago), the best gear that I have recently acquired would have to be my Zexcoil Signature Set of pickups and a white Tusq XL nut for my strat. Those Zexcoils are the quietest pickups that I have found. Nice tone, too. Now, I need to sell all of these other sets of pickups... With all of the tweaking that I have done to my strat over the years, this eleven dollar Teflon infused Tusq XL nut has been the best upgrade. Now, I can actually aggressively use my tremolo and be in tune. If only I would have had this like fifteen years ago.
Also, someone recently gave me a Fender Mustang III amp. It's an alright amp. I've been trying to get this mahogany Fender Modern Player Thinline Deluxe Telecaster to play nice with the Mustang or ANY amp. Upgrading pickups didn't help. Looks like I need to sell it, too...

My new guitar has a GraphTech nut, and I have to say, it's pretty amazing. The tuning is just so smooth and easy and stable.

There she blows! Alas, the les paul custom tone has been achieved on my shoestring budget, a sound I've been searching for. This guitar needed very little work. I would recommend the Agile line to anyone lacking money enough for Gibsons. The most amazing part is the neck and fretwork, super playable. I'll probably still be looking for future Gibsons this is an enthusiastic place-holder as long as that takes. I had some nice parts lying around so I added Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups, Switchcraft toggle switch and output jack, tonepros bridge, and monday I'm going to throw some paper in oil tone caps in there. Guitar is only 8 lbs 13 oz. Solid mahogany construction with spalted maple veneer on top and ebony fretboard with real mother of pearl inlays! Grover tuners and Graph-Tech nut come stock. Pickups weren't bad but I'm a Gibson man. Toggle switch was the only weak spot. Switchcraft or bust for me, gotta have that solid toggle. Super precise luthiery, everything is clean and tight. Really just begs to be played.

the Les Paul Studios are the unexpected bargain in the Les Paul family. I've had students with them, they're really Les Pauls, play and sound great, just cherry pick a good one. The only important difference is there's no binding on the neck. Some people prefer that anyway.

Might snag one from Guitar Center when they have one of their big sales.

I've got one of the Mahogany Studios from around 2007. They changed the finish a little bit and started calling them the "Faded" I think. At any rate, it's a tank. That's the guitar I took on the road and gigged with all over the place. Very solid.

Been really digging the Great River MP-2NV. It's very similar to the Heritage DMA-73 but with a slightly different vibe, mostly in the high mids/highs.
That family of sound always just sounds 'correct' to my ear, so I love having several channels of it.

I've only done a proper blind AB on vox, but the GR is a little softer/less aggressive in the upper mids and top end. It has a very similar sonic footprint, but just a titch clearer, if that makes any sense. I'll get a better handle on it once I have a more varied experience with the GR, but that's how it strikes me thus far.

Sounds like I would like the GR... I can't really imagine anyone not liking the GR. Maybe the best 'all-arounder' preamp I've used. It sounds like a cleanish Neve. Just solid and 'right' sounding.

Are you looking for the half rack or the 500 series version? The eq is amazing and could be something you would want down the road. So, maybe you should be looking for the half rack version. Great River gear floors me. It honestly really does.
