Has anyone else received their VL37? I've tried contacting the manufacturer but get no response by email...starting to get a bit freaked out that my hard earned money is gone!!

They are usually fairly backed up, I know of many delays, no reports of theft/fraud. Typical of one man show operations when flooded with orders.

Henge, I met the owner of Samar, and he struck me as an honest guy and a great music enthusiast. I think you'll be fine, so try not to fret too much. That's not to say unanswered emails are OK.

It was quite a wait and his communication skills are not on the level of Louder than Liftoff or CAPI, being either very late or nonexistent. But I wouldn't worry at all about your investment.

I've had long radio silence with Samar when I had my mics done, but as Emmr stated, they get super swamped, Mark's not gonna do you wrong, quite the opposite actually 8)

Has anyone else received their VL37? I've tried contacting the manufacturer but get no response by email...starting to get a bit freaked out that my hard earned money is gone!! Dear Anton, Sorry for late reply--I just got back from Christmas vacations and it took a couple days to go through and reply avalanche of emails accumulated during this time. Our shop will be closed until January 4th (I have to give our hard working guys some rest too))), but since I am back in town and have my computer I will be able to answer emails on a more regular basis. Indeed, no need to worry about your investment--we are in this business for the long haul and cannot compromise our position doing nonsenses, if anything... it is just not our style)))... Just had a session in a local Warner Music Group studio. Sincerely yours on Samick grand (sorry--it is horribly out of tune) with the VL37 ribbons in Blumlein through Neve 1073 500 series in API frame. No processing of any kind. Schumann, from Forest Scenes #14: www.samaraudiodesign.com/VL37Schumann.wavBest, M

markfouxman, are you going to NAMM? I'm going to be there too. Any chance you might bring along my microphone instead of having to ship it? It'll save both of us money!

I posted this over in the What Are You Working On section, but thought I'd share here as well. The majority of the mix is coming from the VL37 -> Chandler RS124. DI'd the bass and acoustic and blended in a touch of the KM84, which was picking up mostly the e.gtr and snare.

For those who own them... is it just me, or is there a bit of T-Funk 251 in the tone and frequency response?

tonycamphd , Tone, man, what ribbons did Fouxman modify for you? a pair of apex 205's, he put in his RT32 toroidal tranny's, his custom diffusor plates front and rear, and his humiliating 1.8 ribbons(I say humiliating as compared to mine...which i thought were pretty good till i saw his 8)
