I listened, but couldn't make it through, sorry mate. Just not my thing, or anywhere near it. Before it hit hard after 3:00, I felt like I was listening to the musical equivalent of one of those TV commercials where the volume jumps, and it pisses you off. To me, it was just another "modern" mix, shouting for my attention. Y'now, the kind I hear all the time at Whole Foods when I'm shopping. I appreciate the expertise it takes for an audio engineer to do all that's done here, but that said, the music does nothing for me, and the in my face vocal is annoying. If you want an upfront vocal, to me, it's gotta be a top of the line vocalist. I keep wanting to be kind, but gotta say I think their music sucks.
Chris Lord Alge produced this, I'm not a huge fan of his style at all, just balls to the wall compressed, but on such high end gear, and he's very smart about it, so it still holds up. This is a "modern" mix for sure, although not a modern style music. My point is, the vocal's undeniable. He just sings his ass off, and is kind of untouchable. If I wore a hat, I'd tip it to Mr. Yoakam.

all of the dirty loops stuff from their album Loopified sounds amaze-balls. you should reference that stuff when selecting modern mixes :-D definitely my favorite tune right now. Sooo, none of you commented or even listened to this, I bet From memory, the quieter/softer parts left no room for expansion as the song progressed. It was too loud & compressed from the get-go. Although I was interested in the song. Overall, the production left me "wanting".

Well, I just took a listen. Not really my style, but sounds nice. I love hearing a nice heavy bass line. Really gospel sounding bass when it comes in. Sounded good enough that I decided to look these guys up. Surprised that they're from Sweden. Anyway, veering WAY off topic, that bass line got me curious about the bass he's using, so I popped him into google images. Is the pic all wonky, or are his frets all bent out of shape. Huh, true temperament frets. Never heard of that. www.mattissonbass.com/basses/series-iv-henrik-linder-signature/ www.truetemperament.com/Anyone ever played something like this? Ever even seen it before? Wild.

Mr. Yoakam should send Neil Young some flowers for referencing the Don't Cry No Tears For Me riff so heavily.
Really enjoying Kendrick Lamar and Thundercat at the moment. Some of the references are a little too dated - but the sub on King Kunta is ridiculous. Set subs to stun!

The dirty loops is a DR6 master. I'd be glad to listen to the mix--have you heard it?

Edit: Couldn't NOT point out that haircut. Jesus. unit7, all you Swedes have hair like that? Yeah sure, most Swedes have. I would have if I wasn't bold headed. I know these guys a bit, especially Henrik and Aron. 10 yrs ago they attended a class/course in Music production that I run every spring at the Royal College of Music here in Stockholm. Can't say I learned these guys much, except trying to give all the support and encourage possible. As you may have noticed, wether or not you like the style, Henrik has pretty much no limits. He was a monster already back then. Practiced all the time, mostly night time, which showed on my classes Top notch sight reader too. Aron was good but not as consistent as he is today. Practiced a lot to get there. I met him from time to time on a couple of school projects. A couple of years later I heard him in the studio and noticed his playing had gained wheight and consistency. I remember commenting on that and how impressed I was by his progress and his groove. He said he was happy I noticed and also mentioned this new project and the vids they just had put on YouTube... I met them recently and they still have their feet on the ground. Very nice and out of this world talented guys. Really happy things are going well for them.

Their musicianship is almost eclipsed by their arrangements with all that over-the-top harmonic density and motion. It's fabulous that they're out there playing, but of course their music is much too sophisticated for popular mass appeal. Not that they care one wit, ..or should. Their covers are unbelievable..

that's a great cut from their album. I'm not a fan of the ending of that tune, cuz it doesn't make how they end the last 4 or 8 bars of it. but everything else about it is bananas and gorillas.

Reminds me of 80's and 90's Christian music.

Musos spoofing a Disney theme to annoy the producer before playing it as written?
The last outro bit was all that was cool to me. You can tell that's what they WANT to play.....straight up fusion.

Great tune and great playing. Nice to see that some young guns still have the chops. Am I the only one who hears a lot of Stevie Wonder in those vocals?
