So, I'm going to get a bit personal here because I'm going to be stuck in a hospital room for a whole week, and again in a couple of weeks, and I know I'll be online a lot killing time, provided that I'm not sick as a dog. Just fair warning, if my posts seem a little off, annoying, out there, etc, it could just be the meds... then again, it could just be me Since last August, I've been fighting kidney cancer. Rare for a guy my age. They took out my left kidney back in September and I was out of work for a few months, hence so much time on my hands for posting here and going on my mic building frenzy. In the meantime, my fiancé and I decide to have a baby because the meds could make that task impossible in the future. Lots going on. After several months of treatment, my docs and I decide we need to do something more aggressive, so here I am, in a hospital room in Boston, ready to get my first dose of some powerful stuff. I've got my laptop (with Pro Tools), Dre Beats and lots of time on my hands... again, if my posts seem a bit off, or at very least voluminous, now you know why, and I apologize ahead of time.

Best wishes! My friend just beat a really rare, really advanced brain tumor - the treatments today are amazing and Boston has some of the best medical people in the country. Be well and remember those beats are a bit bass heavy so adjust your mixes accordingly

Best of luck Ben! My dad beat kidney cancer in the 80's, had one removed, and is now in great shape at age 75. So keep on pushing!

Hi Ben, all the best wishes from Germany and keep up good faith in yourself. My mom fought the most aggressive pancreas cancer (probably the most aggressive cancer known) against all odds, survived a very radical chirurgic treatment, 2 weeks of almost deadly coma, all at the age of 56. After surviving the bad prognosis of less than a few percents for the next 5 years, she also survived the 10yrs-mark, for which there is not even a statistics anymore. This year she celebrated her 70th birthday last month in good shape as a very active and happy person! I am not at all into religion and spiritual things anymore, but miracles happen every day, and there is always reason for good hope. I keep my fingers crossed for you. Use your time to have good reads, listen to good music, watch movies you always wanted to see, as Eric recommended. Make yourself feel comfortable as good as you can. I always appreciate your posts here, write whatever you want to write about, hey, this is the offtopic.
Best regards and best wishes for a fast recovery, Martin

Best thing I can offer from all the time I have spent as an inpatient, Netflix is awesome if they have good wifi! They have good wifi, but block most of the streaming sites like Netflix and Youtube! I'll find a proxy site somewhere

Yeah, I hope you kick this cancer in the ass and get better as soon as possible.
My grandfather died from cancer, and now my father has cancer but he caught it in time for a moderately good prognosis. it's been nerve wracking for me and the family.
Because of this I've found a new respect for all those going though cancer and their families who also suffer at the hands of cancer even if they themselves do not have it. Both you and your family are in my thoughts and have my best wishes.

wow ben, all the best moving forward.
like svart said, anyone who has watched/helped anyone go through cancer finds a new respect for those fighting it.
