Vintage King? Guitar Center 721 Thompson Lane - over the bridge from downtown before you head to South Nash?

Yeah, Vintage King or GC Pro. Kind of sad there are only two store-fronts in a metro area of 2 Million...
There are other Pro Audio places...but they aren't for the serious user.

We have NOTHING in the Boston (or RI for that matter) area. Few Guitar Centers that don't carry anything. Sonic Circus, 2.5 hours from Boston (which I haven't been to, so don't know how their storefront is) is probably the closest place.

I guess it's just impossible to carry stock in such a niche market.

Corner Music has quite a lot of inventory for a smaller retailer as well. I usually go there first as they keep odds and ends in stock better than GC usually does.

I will confirm that. 4th largest city, GC ran everyone else off and then dumbed it down. Now we have 4 large noob traps. Sad really. You guys in Nashville are lucky with a VK.

I guess it's just impossible to carry stock in such a niche market. The Internet and GC killed the small regional dealers. That and the rise of DAW, tape, and tape machine service was the cash flow when that went away so did the small dealer. It didn't help that every MI shop sold Tascam and Alesis. Here AvId dropped the Local MI shop and some National Systems Contractor is My local Dealer. I have been approached about 12 times in the last 10 years both here in KC and in Houston about a Pro Audio Dealer start up, when I explain the relationships between some dealers and manufacturers, pricing and terms , as well as the fact that Recording is a tiny fraction of the buisness people realize its not what they think it is and hard and expensive market to enter.

I guess it's just impossible to carry stock in such a niche market. And yet companies like Zen Audio, Sweetwater and Studio Economik exist.

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate all your answers. Now that we've addressed that... what about my two capsules?

Hey timcampbell...you don't happen to have a M7 Capsule mount available, do you? I realize that's not your thing, but thought I would ask...

Does RMC Audio have a store front presence in Nashville? I purchased several items from them, including my APB Consoles. Always have good things to say about them.

Understand that even if a Internet seller has a store front you are probably not going to see that much on display. You and everybody else will want a discount on anything that's been opened and demoed. Most net / catalog outfits are about warehouse offices and phone centers.

Good luck in Nashville. There are some good guitar stores, but I don't know about pro audio there.

Nashville is a tough market because almost everybody is from somewhere else with connections to the stores who helped them get started in other locations. Two important ones that have not been mentioned are: Trew Audio: www.trewaudio.com/Pepper's Pro Shop: shop.peppersproshop.com/main.sc
